Enjoy all the action from Homestead this weekend, NASCAR fans! It will be interesting seeing some spectators again for the first time since the COVID-19/Coronavirus pandemic raged. Homestead itself is usually one of the most interesting ovals any series races. So I'm sure the action this weekend won't disappoint in the least sense.

Oh, and best of luck to whatever Ray Ciccarelli's future plans outside of NASCAR involve. Not like anyone REALLY knows him or anything...

How are they handling fans at the race? Limiting to 50% capacity? No changes at all? I'm curious because this will be the first sport in the U.S. with large crowd spectators since coronavirus shut everything down.

Miami is city owned and you have to live in Miami for the chance of getting a ticket and I wanna say only 1500 fans will be there.

Talladega is selling About 5k tickets for that race.

Can we keep the political BS out of this thread? There are many other threads on this forum to speak your opinions.

I didn't mention anything political, I was just asking about the spectators? This is the first time I've even commented.

Homestead will have 1,000 fans limited to military and first responders/frontline medical who live in/are stationed in the area. Talladega has 5,000 fans who already held tickets for the original running of this race or the October race and live within 150 miles of the track. And some RVs allowed outside the track.

Now according to ESPN's Bottom Line, Ray Ciccarelli says he's still running in the Truck series and not entirely leaving NASCAR. R. Ciccarelli also claims his rant was taken out of context. So this is either trying to take back what he said or actually being truthful in what he said. You be the judge.

Anyhow, XFINITY race at Homestead-Miami coming up at 3:30 PM Eastern Time on FOX. Get psyched!

Another truck race... another excellent reason why neither Kyle nor any Cup guy should be allowed in this series.

Absolutely ridiculous
My thoughts exactly. Even sadder is that the trucks usually put on a good show whenever the cup guys (rejects aside) aren't there.

The most ridiculous part of that race was when Kyle was forced into a 3 wide moment because of Chastain in the last restart and still managed to win by a whole second when everyone else had the SAME set of fresh tires as him. What utter BS.

When did NASCAR start red flagging races because of lightning. This is getting ridiculous, it's not like they are playing golf.
You also have to consider pit crews, marshals, and pretty much everyone who isn’t driving a car. It makes a lot of sense to red flag for lightning. I race time attack and we’ve had a few sessions red flagged because of lightning as well.

First off, we know who we're responding to so no surprises there. Secondly, even little league games get called off at the first sign of lightning. I guess that makes us all look weak or something

Wait a second...

First sweep in a while. Elliott slightly pushed too far and made a mistake, sealing the win for Hamlin. 2nd straight top 15 for Wallace.

So, internet decided to conk out for ~30 minutes, so I missed pretty much all of the end of the race.

In any case, congrats to Denny for the win. Big congrats to Tyler Reddick! Drove solid all night (or at least for the portion I was able to watch) and took home a 4th place finish. Gotta be happy with that.

Also Bubba finishing 13th is nice. Seems like the 43 team is starting to hang around the Top-10 a bit more often.

Wallace needs to improve his intermediate track placing. That's where I feel he has struggled the most. If he can consistently finish top 15 he could put himself in conversation (not sure how much conversation) for the 48 ride next year.

Yeah, I'll agree there. He intermediate performance needs serious work, but his short-track and Super performance seems to be good.

Also, while I want Bubba to have as much success as possible, him to the 48 seems like a longshot, imo. Granted, I'm not even sure who's first-in-line to the 48 currently.

Keselowski is the favourite, followed by Erik Jones I would say. Gragson is probably a darkhorse (shudders). I think Bubba is too much of a loose cannon to be Hendrick material (ironic considering Gragson’s driving style). I also don’t know what Reddick’s contract situation is since I’m sure other teams are pursuing him.

Jones should have earned his place in the 20 next year since Bell hasn’t been lighting the world in far and Erik has consistently been racking up top 10s as the #4 JGR driver should be.

If Keselowski is the favorite for the 48 (which sort of would be a homecoming as he got his start with JR Motorsports), who would be moving to the 2? Would they move Matt out of the 21 and put him in the 2 and then move Cindric/Briscoe up? The only guarantee at Penske right now seems to be Logano.

Blaney signed a contract extension as well (he was my original prediction for the 48 last year). Personally I think they’ll put Blaney in the 2 and Cindric in the 12 and leave Matt in the 21 since he just fits with the Wood Brothers image more than Penske.

Keselowski has always resented Hendrick since he was supposed to get the 5 car in 2010 and Mark Martin was supposed to retire but it turned out Mark stayed another year so that’s why he jumped ship to Penske in the first place. So I was surprised that he was linked to the 48 but all signs and rumours I’ve seen point to that. That and Brad fits so well with Penske with the Michigan roots.

If Brad stays with Penske, I really don’t know who’ll get the 48. If I was Erik Jones I’d jump ship since at Hendrick he’ll be way higher up the pecking order than he’ll ever be at Gibbs.

Apparently it’s a done deal. They’re citing COVID concerns, but we all know it’s for entertainment reasons.

Another case of the boss saving the best equipment for himself

Welcome to Florida. Get your 🤬 and get out. Seriously though, Summer in Florida usually means alternating between crushing heat and mean, lightning filled thunderstorms. It is what it is.

Good point there.

Well, as much as I would disagree with that, Bubba is basically a lock for returning to the 43 between a potential influx of sponsors and frankly, the amount of exposure both are getting. As much as I would love for him to move up to a larger team, best thing I could see is RPM getting absorbed into a bigger team or maybe he gets big sponsors and the big teams come knocking around the 2023 season. No way Hendrick is putting Gragson in the 48. Based on his driving, he's gonna be keeping that #9 JRM seat warm for a good long time. No way RCR is letting Reddick go, and franly Penske would be nuts to let Brad go unless Cindric wins the Xfinity championship in dominating form.

A part of me wonders if there will even be a replacement driver for the 48 due to how much COVID-19 is messing things up.

Having said that, I wonder if Chase Briscoe is a possibility. I know he has a development deal with Ford, but I can’t imagine they would stop him from taking the ride considering they don’t exactly have an abundance of competitive rides unless Harvick or Bowyer retire (If Penske adds a car it will be for Cindric).

Aren’t they already pretty much an RCR team in all but name?
