Didn't help that it was both hideous and a fastback rather than a wagon. The classic Outback was successful for a reason. But now, that Outback's new style has gone more upright and boxy, clearly a wannabe SUV rather than a lifted wagon. And that clearly shows Subaru's shame in their own image, that they chose to hide what the Outback always was and is supposed to be.
Yoooo I love this car so much, My dad had a '83 model in Red (3rd coupe hatch like this) back in the day when I was wee little man and I loved riding in this car all the time. Wish i cud find one today, but they very rare to come by. This car must bean american model as it go the tonka bumpers at the front that Uk models never had. We need a new restomod of this hehe!
My mother had a blue ‘84 sedan automatic. We went to a Honda dealer in Manhattan or Queens back in ‘89(I was 18yo at the time), looking at Accords because my sister’s God-parents just bought the top model in white. My mother couldn’t afford it so she tried to get the Civic, but couldn’t get that. So, a friend of my Father found the ‘84 in excellent condition and we rolled with that for a good while.
