Why exactly? One is in NO shape for F1 (For reasons listed above) and the other has no intention of seriously competing in anything Motorsport related.

It’s just how I would market my cars if I was really big group like VAG. I’m not sure Audi is the brand I’d be taking this type of punt with. But with Audi potentially on the ropes maybe I’m wrong…

Personally I’d have it something like:

Premium for F1 - Lamborghini/Bugatti
Sporty Road cars for Sports cars - Audi
Smart/Safe cars for rally - VW/Skoda
Cheap cars for touring cars - Seat

To be fair they can be moved around a bit too. I just think they’ve got a lot to loose with this venture. But maybe it’s just my attachment to Audi.

I’ve already lost Saab 😔

according to the internet Lamborghini revenue is around 3bn euros, the full Fl salary cap of 140m is about 4.5% of that....

the revenue for Audi is around 64bn so the full salary cap would equate to about 0.2% of that revenue...

so if the Fl venture might add just 1% revenue to Lamborghini then VAG gains 30mil, if they gain 1% on Audi revenue then they gain 640mil...

Lamborghini buyers don't need mass marketing, Audi perhaps will benefit from a higher increase in sales from advertising to the wider audience?

I get the idea that Lamborghini high performance might seem relate to Fl but Fl is a business about selling things these days, any they don't and they won't sell large volumes of Lambos.

...

Anyway, the car looks different from the others, it's a little bit basic video game livery but different is good.

They remind me more of this (which might have been the idea?)
I reckon it's good, a little fussy like too many ideas going on - but not enough to be a big detractor for me. I like it overall.

...

How good is it having different cars have different wheels?!!!

It's less about marketing road vehicles and more about maintaining continuation with their other top-level racing efforts. There's much more prestige in saying that Audi has both won at Le Mans and taken a Formula 1 championship, should that ever come to pass. Very few can make that claim.

Not to mention Bugatti is made for a specific clientele that doesn't need to be advertised to, and Lamborghini is already committed as their endurance marque right now.
