oops.

that was a pretty ballsy decision not to stop for tires but it worked out in the end.

Personally Im just glad golden boy Larson didn't win

Just saw this gem on NASCAR's Facebook page.

Tyler Reddick with another W to add to his collection. 5 out of 9 so far. Pretty damn good :sly:

Then there's all the drama with Kyle "Fraud" Busch running P36 all day :indiff:

On one hand, Reddick is definitely benefitting from the Chevrolet model modification that has made them a lot slower (Trackhouse is the biggest evidence of that.)

On the other hand, Busch did get pushed out at Gibbs for Ty. RCR is essentially 1 step from him retiring, which he probably will do when Brexton enters Arca/Trucks.

Aside from Carson Earnhardt's win and epic victory celebration, that was one of the worst Talladega races I've ever seen (exaggerating, but you get the point). The next-gen product on super speedways clearly hasn't worked.

NASCAR really needs to just ditch the stage breaks and let the race happen naturally. Because--obviously--why wouldn't you go 50% throttle when there's a guaranteed caution coming in x number of laps? Why wouldn't you just ride around biding your time keeping the car clean when everyone will re-rack on the final stage and make no moves until the last few laps.

It's funny when Chad Finchum and Cody Ware were leading, I saw a tweet that said the field collectively decided to let them lead to see what it felt like

Case in point, if NASCAR is so hell bent on keeping the stage points, they can simply look at the sports car series they own (IMSA) to see that the breaks are not needed. They don't need to bring out the pace car to score the endurance points- nevermind its better racing since we all know the teams can choose their strategy without destroying the flow of the race. We all know that though so the fact that they still have the caution makes even less sense.

They tried no stage breaks a few years ago at road courses and hated how then the races were runaways. If Daytona/Talladega are runaways it will be because they removed restrictor plates. The plate tracks are fine to run no stage breaks period.

I don't think stages work for Talladega.
I'm not against stage points but I'm totally against cautions at stage. Let's give the points without throwing a caution flag and race on. I believe this is one big thing NASCAR got wrong. Maybe still have the halftime breaks for the Trucks since it is more for low budget teams.Your thoughts?

Stages are fine as long as there are no cautions. It creates more issues at plate tracks than it solves.

Anything to bring back the Truck Series to its roots from 1995 :P

Remember when they did the whole caution clock nonsense with the Truck Series? NASCAR has always wanted close, tight racing for the lead. They fear having dominant runs and dominant drivers.

Last NOAPS race had 1 Ford competing. This one has 0. This will be the first time in 1,116 races (1991 Martinsville) that a Ford will not be running in a 2nd level NASCAR race.

On top of that, there are only 6 Toyotas (4 JGR, 2 SHR).

Hilarious that NASCAR's second-highest division is dominated by Chevrolet, running a car they don't even produce anymore

I'm fairly certain that Ryan Blaney is driving for Ferrari and nobody knows it. Especially neither Blaney nor Ferrari.

The world has moved past the need for "Kyle Busch." :indiff:

Sucks that he's stuck in garbage RCR equipment but this dude has not matured at all. How are you going to throw away a near Top-10 (sounds so embarrassing written that way) result because you cleared yourself off "John Hunter Nemechek?"

I totally agree. I liked him in the past but his tantrums have just gotten old.

NASCAR posts a video a day or two after the race called 'Radioactive" where they play the radios of different drivers and Busch's crew chief said that they were finally gonna finish in the top 10 for the first time in two or three years, and he throws it away.

Ridiculous.

The first Watkins Glen race in May will not see a repeat in 2027 as it will be run in the playoffs.
