The fact that RCR has decided to save the #8 for when Brexton enters NASCAR is a nice touch. A lot of folks will be supporting his future career.

Really hope Kurt is doing ok in all of this, and that his family and other good folks are supporting him and each other.

RIP Kyle Busch. It’s such a shock to have him pass away just days after winning yet another a race. The move by RCR to suspend use of the 8 is a good, respectful decision.

Only 41, man. Over the years, I mostly watched NASCAR for the highlights, and Kyle almost always managed to be in them. Usually for something reckless, but he stood out. RIP. 😞

If you cant read this, apparently Kyle fell off a ladder at his home back in March that required 24 stitches. One possibility might be the injury became infected - but I'm not gonna speculate on any cause. just thought I would share this.

Suarez wins a rain shortened 600.

This is apparently the first time all 3 national series have failed to reach the full distance in the same weekend.

Very fitting that the winner is not only someone who drove for KBM (with a top 10 that also included two others as well), but also a team that operates out of what was the KBM shop. Must've been destiny.

The winning truck was #34
The winning O'Riley was 9
The winning Cup was 7.

34-9-7 = 18
Just sayin

Not sure if everyone saw, but the cause of death was released in more detail.

I came down with a cough about 7-8 weeks ago that got pretty bad over a few days, but hasn't really gone completely away until very recently. Never had any other symptoms and never went to see the doctor, but hearing what happened to Kyle will probably send me there next time just in case. Can never be too careful...

Heim will replace Herbst in the 35 next year. Definitely a move that needed to happen, 23XI will definitely have one of the best lineups next year.

Kyle Busch has been removed from the Cup Series point standings :(

A week later and I still can't believe he's gone. I still can't accept that his Wikipedia article uses, "was," instead of, "is." :indiff:
Seems strange to remove him from the standings and that's a new development then. They did not do so when Rob Moroso died in the 1990 season and also won ROTY.

Herbst has been living on borrowed time since the beginning of 2025.

Did they not do that with Dale Earnhardt? Granted it was the first race of the season sooo probably easier to not include his name, but still.

It sounds like an act of respect to the rest of the field, that a driver who can no longer compete for the championship doesn’t get in the way of drivers who can.
