Alex Bowman will be returning to Hendrick for 2027. However, he will not be there in 2028 as he plans to retire following the end of next season.

On one hand, Zilly definitely needs to get out of Trackhouse; that team is being carried by SVG at the moment and even SVG can do better than TH.

On the other hand, holy hell in a handbasket is Zilly doing poorly. In 22 races, he has less points than Kyle Busch :indiff: not only that, but the 23XI 67 is higher in Owner's Points than the 88 :( I know he's a rookie and all and it's unrealistic that he put up fantastic numbers out the gate (I expected 2023 Ty Gibbs performance, maybe less due to the equipment differences), but he quite literally cannot stop finished P30th+. At a certain point, I think it stops being bad luck and just being...bad.

It feels like he just has a terribly timed Rookie season as Trackhouse has definately gone down in quality, which makes SVG's success look that much more herculean (and impressive that he's figuring it out at a very quick rate, while his team somehow isn't).

Granted Hendrick themselves have kinda fallen off a cliff and of course the bad news just keeps coming for RCR so maybe 2026 was just not the year to be on Chevy squad period apart from Spire it seems.

As pointed out of course, he is in a rookie season so not alot should be expected out of year 1 (Probably because the possibility of seasons like this were outside the rare Shanes of the world, the equipment isn't there) so this can kinda be written off.

They changed the car design this past year and I'm not sure if its the aero or its something else, but for everyone to miss, it points to that. Sadly, Ford also has fallen off a cliff due to terrible luck.
