Fascinating stuff.

I hope they do well, but I just got massive...

...vibes from that video.

Very promising pace from Rowbo and the Merc in the first group, best of the rest after Tingram. Moffat also going well in the new PMR Audi.

Doble fast as well in one of the other PMR Audis. Looks like genuine pace for the new machine.

Ingram barely used boost, Sutton drove straight through the pack. They are so far ahead of everyone else it’s ridiculous.

Impressive drive by Doble in the new Audi.

It seems Ingram didn't need to use his boost, his car has been adjudged to have had significant overboost and has been disqualified. Adam Morgan gets a 5 second penalty for a lesser overboost infringement.

BTCC has a new fan - my Mum... 😅

We got home just before Race 3 started, so I stuck it on and my Mum watched it too - she loved it, and was very surprised at how much the drivers get away with in terms of contact, track limits etc., which of course is what makes BTCC so much fun. It is quite fitting because my Grandad (my Mum's Dad) was a huge fan of BTCC and we used to watch it all the time.

The fact that it was at Donington was a bonus, and if I'm well enough I might try and get to the next BTCC rounds at Donington Park GP.

Brilliant first weekend!
Big NAPA fans here, what a difference a day makes! 😂
Me and my wife have tickets for Donington GP, can't wait!

New TCR car and I wonder if it might become an option for the BTCC next year when the new rules come into effect.

Don’t need a TCR car to be built for it to be eligible in BTCC as they don’t use those regs.

I think he meant more in the sense that from next season, cars don't need to be sold in Britain to be eligible. NAPA Racing got a special dispensation to run the Focus saloon this season.

Doesn't the manufacturer at least need to be selling in decent numbers in the UK in order to bring it in, even if the car isn't sold in the UK? I can't recall ever seeing a Geely car, unless you count LEVC.

"From 2027, providing that the vehicle brand is sold within the UK, then any model from that brand can be entered – as long as the car is originally equipped with an internal combustion engine as its primary means of motive power and, of course, conforms to the size and body regulations as per currently."

Geely are sold in the UK, there's no stipulation on how many cars the brand needs to be selling.
