A great drive from ATS in round 5. Still looks like Ingram has an issue in mixed conditions, definitely advantage Sutton if we have the typical British summer for the future rounds. Collard has been very good on his return to the series, great job by PMR to get the new Audis bang on the pace so quick, and it looks like Morgan at least is getting the hang of the new Merc. Not so much Rowbottom. Many travails and shenanigans, definitely a Plato protege, though I think the Osborne incident was 50/50 and an overreaction from Osborne Sr.

Absolutely ominous display from Sutton again at Snett. Only finished outside of the top 3 once in 9 races so far (ignoring qualifying races) with 10th in Race 2. 50points ahead already...

Elsewhere Ingram with a storming drive from 21st to 3rd, right on Suttons heels, going some way to right the disappointment of race 2.

Shedden once again showing why he is such a wily old fox to hold on for a race 3 win once again.

Pretty tame day by BTCC standards at Snetterton, honourable mention to Rainford by the way, creeping up to 3rd overall as it stands and looking all the more mature as a potential lead driver for WSR BMW.

I'd also like to mention Nic Hamilton, really nice to see him in some top machinery (no disrespect to the Un-limited Cupras) but he's really starting to put some consistency together. After seeing his amazing 6th place at Donington a few years back, I'd love to see Nic do it on merit again this year, and to be honest I see no reason why not. Nice to see Ingram acknowledged that after race 3 as well 👍 .

Edit: even more so for Nic, with the Jack Sears win in race 3, more evidence of his progress

Super drive by Ingram in race 3 but a bit too often off the track. Post-race penalty dropped him off the podium.

Sutton got a penalty after race 2 for passing off track but he was so far ahead by the flag it didn’t matter. The combo of him and that rocket saloon Focus has made the championship almost over already.

Great drive by Flash in race 3.

Just saw that Nic Hamilton apparently earned his maiden podium today? It's a bit difficult for me to follow BTCC, so I don't know how today's races went, but if that is indeed the case, I'm super stoked for him.

Nic won the Jack Sears trophy, which is for the highest placed driver in the race who hasn't had a podium yet. A strong example tof the progress he's making this year alone. Super cool to see him get some silverware, he deserves with the work he puts in both on and off the track.

Next one to aim for will be an overall podium 💪

Charles Rainford's victory in race 1 at Snetterton meant that WSR had won at least one race in 15 straight BTCC seasons. Proud of my local team, and hopefully it will help them find some extra sponsorship.

For those who missed the last IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge at Mid-Ohio, the TCR battle was glorious!

Live reporting... we lost 2 hours due to a big prang earlier, but we're back with touring cars action...

Be a shame if he is there to replace Ricky Collard due to his funding issues. Collard just seems like he's hitting his stride right now.

Sadly it seems Ricky Collard's funding has run out earlier than expected, and this weekend at Thruxton is the end of his BTCC season. A massive shame, he's 5th in the championship and had some storming drives and moves.

Ricky's onboard of that move is great, full opposite lock at full throttle.

Correctamundo!

Correctamundo!
It's crazy that the driver 5th in the championship can't secure funding, heck it's crazy he even needs it at that level of operating to be honest.

Timely reminder that Ricky beat Colton Herta in the MSA Formula Championship in 2015 and only lost to Lando Norris, winning 6 races and only retiring once in the 33 race series. Dan Ticktum that same year finished 6th and was disqualified from 2 meets (6 races).

Ricky Collard extends BTCC deal with EXCELR8

Ricky Collard has extended his agreement with EXCELR8 to race in the British Touring Car Championship for at least the next three events.

My lovely sister just gave me a really unexpected and lovely surprise - in a couple of weeks' time, I'm going to be doing some hotlaps of Knockhill as a passenger with Gordon Shedden. I will probably barf, but never mind 😅 I will, of course, have to wait and see how I feel on the day - but if I'm not up to it, then my sister can do it instead.

We are also planning to go to Knockhill this weekend - we can't make it for Race Day, but we are thinking about catching the new Qualifying Race on Saturday afternoon.

Saturday should be good. The quali races have been fun this year, and you'll get a few rounds of the maniac Legends as well on the support schedule.

What an experience that will be, and what a circuit to do it as well.

Oh good!

Though I suppose Excerlr8 can ill-afford a repeat of last year with Crees/Bensley/Proctor.

I'm going to head to Knockhill for the Saturday stuff. Hopefully we can meet up at some point.

Rant time - I really wish ITV would not put the Saturday stuff on bloody Youtube, with bloody ads every few bloody seconds. I watch on the TV app so blockers won’t work, and I’m not paying £10 a month for Premium or Premium Lite.

Anyway I’m happy to see that the Platos have improved massively since the break. Hopefully Adam can hold on tomorrow in race 1 and get the team’s first proper victory.
