I'm finally ready to run the 24hr race and I was debating on which car I should use. I considered a 908, 787B, and a Zonda R. I would really like to run the zonda but I am concerned if I could actually win with it. What do you think? Does anybody know the average lap time I need to run to win the race? I would really like to run the zonda because I love the cockpit and since I will be racing in that view for at least 20 hours its pretty important. The zonda would also be fully tuned so it will have about 690pp.

There are alot of topics on the matter, try using search and you will find your answers ;)

I have, there is nothing about the zonda and the 24 hours of lemans. I've read about 15 race reports and there is nothing on the zonda.

Its not about the Zonda...,you can manage to test your own avg lap times in 3 laps.
its this:

Does anybody know the average lap time I need to run to win the race?

now let me search, because this seems to be the main question, I searched for the following words: le mans 24 hour lap times, in all that is Gran Turismo 5 forums, and got several good hits, incl:

You only plan on racing just over 20 hours, I would expect at least 24 hours racing in a Zonda. So you must have a very good idea on lap times allready if you can put together a strategy to race the Zonda for that time. And you will have to achieve sub 3 min laps also. Personally I think your trolling.

edit: Sorry I had N24 in my head!

Yes the Zonda can win, but I don't remember specifics from when I tested it :)

2nd edit: Here's how you figure out the required lap times by yourself:
Start the race with your preferred AI line-up. Park your car at the side of the road and let the AI run around for an hour or two while you watch Grand Prix Heroes on the telly for inspiration. Quit the race and watch the replay, fast forward to the end and note total time and lap number for the lead car when he passes the start/finish. Calculate his average lap time!

The longer you let the AI run the better average you will get, also try to catch the leader on his out-lap after a pit stop so you get the "right" number of pit stops in the count.

Trolling! You are out of your ******* mind!

I will be racing in that view for at least 20 hours
I clearly stated that I will be in that view for about 20 hours. Nowhere did I say I plan to race 20 hours and the let the clock run out. I prefer the cockpit view for a more realistic feel.

Sir, you are the one trolling here, you couldn't even read my entire post. You probably read a line or two and then decided to accuse me of trolling.

By the way, did it ever occur to you that maybe I can only buy one car? Maybe I don't want to sit there and grind for a whole day to get all three cars.

Take it easy, he probably only thought you were trolling, because you did not use the search function very well!! As stated above, you didn't use it very well ;)

I didn't search?

The answer to my question could have been something like, yes the zonda could be a competetive car, or no the zonda will not be fast enough to keep pace with the lmp cars. Maybe someone knew somebody who has completed the race with the zonda. But instead I get this
Personally I think your trolling.

You guys decide to attack me for no reason. I don't have a history of "trolling" or harassing anybody on gtp, so why would you all just start making false accusations?

RA1D3R-

I dont think your question was in any way stupid.

I think it is possible to win with the Zonda but would be quite tough, you need to test your tyre wear as I remember the R being evil on tyres. Make sure its not too much harder on the rubber than your likely competitors. Run a few laps to get an idea of your times or maybe start the race and quit when you have the info you need.
Dont get too wound up by some of the people on here, some of them are a little odd to say the least. Good luck in your race 👍
