Can anyone who has done, or at least partially done this endurance race tell me about the weather patterns of this race?

I started this event in heavy rain and I've just passed the 5 hour mark. There has been no let up in the rain, constant and heavy. Is it random or does it give you a certain percentage of rain time?

Another question: What time of day does the race start? I couldn't tell because there have been no shadows as yet to look at, and I'd like to know when I can expect darkness to fall.

Thanks in advance lads 👍 (and ladies :))

There isn't any weather pattern. It's just random.
About the time, I'm pretty sure the race starts at 2pm.

Cheers for that, night time coming soon then, Hope the Bently has good headlights....:nervous: And I hope this rain stops before night... It's getting old in the daytime.

Good luck with it, make sure you keep us posted!

I will be doing the Sarthe as soon as my BoB finishes the 'ring which should be in 2 days after I hit bspec 40 likely tomorrow night... I am thinking I will get a few mates over and get some (read a lot) of beer and do it in shifts with prizes for hot laps, quickest sectors & maybe a prize for the driver who can do the most laps in a set time or something. No pausing either, 24 hours straight with power naps only LMAO!

Sounds like fun! wish I had a back up driver! well I'm coming up on the 6 hour mark and It's FINALLY stopped raining just as night is falling, the track is still wet, but I hope it will dry soon with the tyre spray. I had a few after the kids went to bed last night and it took about 10 seconds off my laps. Just to let you all know, 6 hours of the ring in heavy rain is not something I recommend :)

6 hours of the 'ring in the wet sounds about as fun as a skinny dip in antarctica... has to be done though, that's the problem with the 24 hour races, there's nowhere to hide!

I am going to do extensive practice in a car that is as competitive as possible with the rather lacklustre AI, 24 hours of lapping the opposition would get quite boring... imagine the anger levels after spinning out on the last corner to come 4th... gotta make sure THAT does NOT happen LMAO!

You can easily check the time of race start yourself by purchasing the McLaren MP4-12c, enter the race and take a look on the watch on the display to the left of the steering wheel. I haven't unlocked this race yet so I can't do it for you...

The first time I did both 24 hour raves it rained for all of Sarthe and 20 hours at the 'Ring. Doing the ring again now the suspend option is there, but this time started it and parked the car for 15 hours before restarting to make sure there was no rain for at least that long!

Top tip right there :) nice one @eran0004

If I spun out and lost on the last corner of a 24 hour race, the TV would be sporting a nifty accessory right through the middle of the screen :) FYI the fastest car in my current race is the Audi Tdi.

The first time??? You did it twice? WTF? <- masochist or what?

Well said, mine would be in the street in a thousand pieces with my car reversing over it again and again and again!

Doing enduro's twice is epic dedication... or uber stupidity, I've yet to decide haha!

How are the lights on the Bently holding up? Do they provide enough light to make it possible to see the corners coming up?

Yep it's random. I did the 24 hours at Sarthe. Rained for 22.5 hours. It sucked.

I did 24hrs of Sarthe the other day in b-spec. It didn't rain at all.

I'm now doing 24hrs nurb b-spec. About one hour in, and it's not raining yet...

Bspec just rocks, epic prize cars & means I can play PS3 and sleep at the same time, no more waking up to me driving along a wall confused & drooling LMAO!!

Bentley's lights seem to be just fine, although I haven't done enough night driving to give you a useful comparison sorry.

Here's a nice little tip if you dont want to race in much rain, when the game loads and your on the startline if its raing quit and re-enter. Keep doing this till the race starts with a clear sky then you should only have approx 4 hours of rain later during the race.
Ive done this on all 5 times ive done A spec 24hr races. 3 x 24 le-mans and 2x 24hr nurburgring.

PS this also works on lesser races like the suzuka super GT race.

OMFG !!! You've done five 24 hour A- spec races???? what??? I'm into my 7th hour now and have to take a break because my shoulders are hurting. Legend 👍

It is 100 % random how much it rains. So I'm sorry, but your estimate doesn't hold up.

When I did Le Mans it started in bright sunshine and finished in bright sunshine and I hardly saw a cloud in between never mind rain. Guess I just got lucky :D

I ran the suzuka 1000 with rain start to finish. I won by 6 seconds in a tuned 2010 camaro non rm. Holy crap what a stressful race.

I ran the Suzuka race with nothing but sunshine....all 172 laps of boredom...

Me too BUT it was just before the S Vettel Seasonal came up so when it did I ripped out a 1:08.155 straight up with no tweaking... think I was pi55ed when I rab a 1:06.002 online but could not replicate in seasonal? BAH!!

Gunna sit down tomorrow and spend hours trying to take a few seconds off, gunna be interesting!

My B-spec driver has been doing the nurburgring 24 over the past few days (thank god for mid race saves) and he's got about 6 hours left. The entire race i have not seen a drop of rain, the morning is pretty foggy but no rain so i'd day its pretty random.

That is true. My 24h Nordschleife started in dry. After about 2 hours the rain came and it stayed most of the night. It wasn't so fun ... Same happened on 24h Le Mans. It rained most of the night, but I came into a dry and beautiful morning. I can't remember what it was like in B-spec ... I think Le Mans was raining a lot and Nordschleife not. But am not sure.

The man has done 5 24 hour endurance races... I'll take him at his word just for being a hard core GT5 mother*****r

And I've done 10 or so 24 hour races in B-spec. The rain is 100 % random.
