Hi all, I am a new member and I am familiar with how forums work. After I signed up, I went searching for a thread about how to do the 24 mins of Spa. It is one of two races left to do for me (Le Mans being the other and there is a good thread). Cutting to the chase, which prototypes work well, what settings should I go for to create a good set up and how do the AI pit and behave?

This is the easiest of the 24 minute races. I think I did it with the mazda 787b, the nissan r89, and the peugeot 905.
Get the 905 as that one will easily do the other 2 races as well.
AI pits behavior differs for many from what I've read but you should be pitting just once. Don't worry about the AI since you can't control them.

I used the Audi R8 LMP in both of them and it worked great, no need to mod it out, just change the oil if you like and get you some tires. You can run RS tires in both races, even when it is raining and if need be you can pit twice and still win.

I would advise going onto SPA on the test track and making sure you know where the pit entrance is before you run the race. I missed it and ended up running out of fuel a bit over half way through the race, had to mope along to the pits but still won the race by a sizable amount.

The R8 head lights also work well so you can see pretty good during the night, best to avoid the big turbo as it will rain in both races and that big turbo can be more harm than help on wet road

I used the Audi R8 LMP '01, with GT5 tune for same car by praiano63 with a little negative toe added to the front.
After re-doing the events a few times following winning of the championship...
...I think it can be done without tune as well, but install the non-high turbos...
...unless you are very comfy with that kind of HP in the wet.

I think any of the Peugeot LMPs would be good too.

I stayed on RS the whole way, precipitation or not.
I used a wheel, no driving aids, no ABS.
That's what worked for me.

Good tip by HBR-Roadhog regarding pit-entrance at Spa.

I used the Deltawing in Spa and Sarthe. Works very well. I used intermediate tires for both. I only pit for fuel once for both races. Black Deltawing has better handling. I used the chrome one though.

I don't think i did any tuning at all to the R8, did not even change the oil, If I did do anything it would have been to lower the top speed slightly to get better acceleration but not sure I even did that. The car drives really well bone stock and is strong enough to win on any track.

I pitted once on Spa, after i ran out of gas ;)

Pitted twice on Lemans, just because I had a big lead and my rear tires were not looking to good, could have finished on them but thought would be better to pit. rear tires take a beating going down the straight at full throttle.

Ahaha I'm surprised the intermediates work well with the deltawing. I have read the deltawing needs a different style of driving and not sure if it could work for me. For reference I use DS3 and ABS 1 (driving line too) for aids.

If you use a Deltawing, Only pit once for fuel and/or tire change
If you use the ordinary LMP's, still try to pit only once, you might have to pit twice if you want better tires but that usually won't happen.

@stache92 I tried using RS RM RH in wet road but the inters works best for me. Yes you need a different style of driving but just a little bit. Its like driving a big kart. But I have to tune the chrome version because its spins out a lot. I use DS3 also.

I'm low on credits, not enough for getting an R8 LMP or any for that matter. Not even able to go online for a while. I do have the Peugeot 908 and an anniversary R18. Will a stock 908 (after oil) suffice? I suppose the R18 needs a turbo to even catch up.

Edit: Eh I'll just leave the thread as it is and I gotta thank you all. Should turn out to be some good racing.

That's more than enough. Just avoid making mistakes like spinning out or overshooting the curb when it gets dark. The A.I. always lets you win the last two laps of any race in GT6.

The R18 AE is not a good choice, I tried it first at Lemans and did not work out so well. The problem being that the headlights do not work very well and you can't see the road at night, Pit entrance was almost impossible to locate in it.

The 908 would be fine provided the lights work well enough to see where you are going in the dark

You gave me an idea. I will try to use the Audi Auto Union '37! :D

beat it in a DeltaWing 2013... mind numbing easy... I believe I lapped the entire field... if you can afford it, I would definitely get that... I think 908 should do it, most likely a better choice than the R18 that's slightly slow...

Just a helpful tip for cars that have bad or no lights. Use the driving line to guide you at night.

I used the Pescaorlo with the highest PP, and it blasted though. One pitstop, and I lapped the field down past 3rd before finishing. That car is so stupid easy to win with, although on RH tires, I had to stay off the racing line to get the grip I needed when the track was wet.
