Yeah it's a fabulous piece of engineering, let's just hope we'll see it in the GT series.. Although i miss the W18 configuration, but they had to skip that one due to cooling problems..

W18:

From what I understood reading of the W18 they had problems cooling the middle cylinderbank. When you run a twin W16 (2*W8:s) it's more like a regular V16 but with 3 cylinderbanks as they originally thought with the W18 they just cuoldn't get enough cooling to the middle 6cyl bank, prolly because of heat radiation and lack of aircooling to the middle bank..

They still could never resolve the problem? Or did they give up?

I don't know. My guess is that they could have solved it but in the end the W16 configuration was more reliable and had less disadvantages than the W18.

Cano

and to add up a little about this, in this year's Gumball 3000, a Koenigsegg CC did 242 mph on an open, public road trough nevada, I think. not on a racetrack, on an OPEN, PUBLIC ROAD. yeah, nuts.

Hey Cano, I didn't even know that. I read the reviews on it and the first time they went for the speed record for production, they didn't make it, because of rain, but they still got 222 mph.....in the rain. That car is awesome.

Anyhow, I'd like to see one on the road.
