I agree there are three stand outs to me though. I actually feel this race might need to be moved over to the GT3 Drifting forum though with the nature of this race

Hmmm, just had an idea on a car, wondering if it will run the same as the others. This might be a break through and still within the rules :D

No worries....... I think this one doesnt quite have the fun factor as the other one did but I think it's raised a few eyebrows about 4cylinder single turbo performance hehe...... that wasnt my goal...... this was just another thing that we did during a decent sized get together for GT3 at my casa.

I think I know which one we will do next time if nobody hunts me down and kicks my butt for saying we use sim tire's without traction control.

I think this is more of a race to see the super fine driving skills of everyone.... Equal cars..... at least they are all rated at 276hp until you look in your garage...... lol I dont think a single one of them says under 300hp in the garage.

Well just laid down a 16.7 with my unnamed official car for this race. Although I ran a 1'07 to follow, that was my first lap with this shining bugger :D

I have got quite a few things on mind as does VG. So not sure yet but I will defineately keep throwin them out if interest keps up like this.

Well, first thoughts.
#1 NSX -> This might be the car to beat in the right hands. The Gearing is excellent. It does have a slight twitch in its understeer/oversteer ability.

That's a slight twitch? :odd:

The NSX is sprung a little softly for my tastes. I've found that suspension work yields the most with this car. Not that I have the option this time... :)

well i just layed down a 16.6/1'05.6 w/ the EVO VII which continues to surprise me every time i drive it (also makes me want GT4 to come out sooner so i can hop in the EVO VIII and tear up some asphalt in that :trouble: Overall lap time was yet again .100 faster than my time i laid down w/ the R34, which was .100 faster than the RX7. 3 totally different cars, all separated by .100 of a second. thats amazing. Still havent really run much w/ the NSX or Supra, they're next on my to do list, tho I may just stick w/ the EVO and try to get all I can out of it. Im curious as to how much I can push it

how do you guys get faster and faster??? do you against your ghost car like on a liscense or just run like 20+ laps wide open and see what happens?

you just gotta drive drive drive :) practice indeed does make perfect (or close to it anyways, theres no such thing as perfect) Running against your ghost can help you see where you can make or lose time on a track, but i usually find it to more of a hinderance then help cuz the ghost always gets in my way and i cant see the proper line to take when im goin into a turn

::EDIT:: Hmm, well the NSX was a bit stronger than i had originally anticpated. I knew it was gonna be fast, but not this fast. just laid down some laps w/ it, and a new best clean save has times of 16.4/1'05.0, and a lap time thats almost 2 seconds faster than my EVO VII time. Off I go to try the Supra. Better get my body shop on hold. haha

::EDIT AGAIN:: Supra Icky. If you really wanna go w/ this thing and make it work, more power to ya, as for me, im stayin away from it. I think I may actually turn in 2 times (if thats acceptable) 1 for the nsx and one for the evo VII. i tried chasing my NSX ghost w/ the evo....haha, that was fun. you can KINDA keep up w/ it on the corners, but once that nsx hits a straight....holy ****. For fun i bought a Z06 Vette, gave it an oil change, slapped sim tires on it, single clutch, racing flywheel, no tcs or asm, and that was it. and even then, i had a hard time keeping up w/ the NSX. i think the vette was runnin like 386hp, even still, the NSX would out-accelerate it on the straights. a friggin vette, w/ a an engine BUILT for top end. So i threw on the racing chip, which brought it to 403hp. after some laps i was finally able to overtake the NSX by about a second. but still, for a 333hp nsx to put up that good of a fight against a 403hp vette is friggin amazing. Props to honda for building such a street machine :D As for me, the stinging pain in my eyes is my contacts way of telling me its bed time. More on this tomorrow night. i work all day...bleh.

IDAFC, do you find that you must take a very w i d e line with the NSX and wait until you're straight to apply full throttle?

hmmm..i dont know about a very wide line, but you definently need to wait till youre pointin in the right direction before you get back on the throttle

I haven't paid much attention to the splits, but I have seen 16.xxx for T1.

To answer the power question: there are several NSXes. They have slightly different engines. Also, break-in counts for a lot. My NSX is coming in at 320ish with the listed mods and no break-in. It's probably a little higher now.

I think our next competition should have Stage 3 lightening, sim tires, and nothing else. :D

I managed to play through the game without ever giving Sim tires a try. I guess their reputation had preceeded them. Anyway this looks like fun and I had an NSX handy:

T1: 16.7xx
T2: 1'05.8xx

The NSX is a handful with the stock suspension and these tires; the front wants to grip and the rear wants to slip if it's getting any gas. On the sharper turns (like turn 1) I try to get most of the turning done early, so I can accelerate hard out without turning much. I guess you'd call that a late apex. I try to semi-drift the more sweeping turns, with a lot of twitchy throttle activity to keep the rear end under control. The challenge will be to stay off the guardrails in that narrow bit before the last turn, without driving to wimpy.

Good spot idea Tofu4! :)

Just got a T1- 16.8
T2- 1.06.9
in an Impreza 22b legal:confused: or is everyone keeping quite:sly: . Anyways I also have a NSX typeR to run in and use tommorow, in some tests last night I prefered the R to the ZERO we shall see??
Eggscelent spot race by the way:tup:

New time in the NSX. 16.4/1'04.6 and a time thats about a second faster than my last time :D This run was a beauty. I really dont see how i can take much more time off of this one. But that doesnt mean im not gonna try :trouble:

Well, I spent much of my time driving the "wrong" NSX. Turns out the R is as sweet handling as the S Zero is ugly. The S had a little more hp (342 vs 328) but was a total pain to drive.

NSX type R: 17.101 1'05.710 1'59.993 :< time invalid
edit: ran this with ASM 10 and TCS 5. The other times are ok.

NSX type S: 17.031 1'05.747 2'00.363

Lancer Evo VII: 17.671 1'08.880 2'04.530

Did just a few laps in the Evo, since it was in the garage and never driven. Had a 2'00.079 with the S, but with a wall touch before the last turn. Speeds at the S/F were: R 134, S 138, and VII 130 mph.

Might try a few more laps in the R once the trick or treaters give it a rest.

Nice spot Tofu. Great times there IDAFNSX!

i dont think tofu really set a specific time for a deadline this week. just "somtime friday night" haha. i'll probably turn in my time in another hour or so. i might see if i can pull anything out of my arse, but i dont think i'll be able to. i worked all day and im tired as hell right now
