Hi folks,
I have been playing this game since Nov '10. I have 1100 cars and have yet to see or get the 2J !!
My son who also plays just laughs because it has been offered to him several times!!
Everytime I have a win I check used garage,,but nothing.....any suggestions?

You can also get 1 from a 1970 birthday ticket or level 23 ticket but the odds are against you getting 1 first try. It will show up in the UCD eventually. Good luck.

The used car garage will add new cars (I think about 6) every time you race - not just win. About every 5 races, win or lose, the entire selection in the UCD will be replenished.

Except for a huge gap in the UCD database, I should see the 2J on Day 3290. Only 3190 days to go for me...

Are you guys on a different Master List or something? I forget what day I'm on but the 2J is going to show up at least another 9 times in my UCD. And it has already appeared 3 times since I started. I've got two of them in my garage.

^This^ Trade for a ticket or create another account with todays date in the year 1970 as your birthday. When you get your ticket, send it to yourself. The save to a usb & recycle it 'til you get the car.

Alternatively...

You could send me a FR & I'll send you one.

Thanks guys .....i will keep trying.

Maybe ask if there's anyone in the market place willing to part with a ticket, that's what i did and got the car.

Took me 8 attempts but I can verify that this method works. Got a nice 0/0/0 Chaparral 2J from a 1970 Birthday ticket now. So it's doable. A bit of a pain depending on how many attempts you have to make, but doable.

I've got Qty (8) 2J's in my garage, all purchased (from B-Spec grind money)from the UCD. This link will explain when they show up in the UCD. Cheers!

If you send fr to zegolfman i will send you that ticket for free or i can share the car with you.

You can only Slurp one Chaparral at a time.

Slurp - Act of Piloting a TwoJay race car. (Compare to Vacuum Cleaner.)

Ok, still on the 2J theme, any idea just how low a PP level I can take the 2J down to? its not had an oil change since I got it & it's on 5,234.4 miles now, I've got it down to 527 after a few B-spec endurance races but its not dropped since. Cheers.

I can only get mine down to 545, but i've changed the oil. I don't think yours will go any lower.

Yes, it will go lower. Mine has over 120,000 miles on it and its down to 516 PP. It seems to drop 1 PP for every 20,000 miles. I really don't think there is a limit as to how far it will drop but thats what I've been testing.

So I guess it's a month of overnight endurance races coming up then....my poor bobs are going to be knackered.

I was trying to get the 2J for some time, broke down about a week ago and set up a second account and duped a 1970 ticket. Over 30 resets and I still didn't get a single 2J. I assumed they took out off the 1970 ticket, apparently not since rainman managed to get one recently, unless he got it a while back. I'll try again tonight and hope I can finally get one.

First post, whoo!

Next time you receive a ticket save your game, exit GT5 and copy your savegame to an USB drive. Load GT5 and open the ticket. If it's not the 2J, exit GT5, restore savegame from your USB drive to PS3 and start GT5 again.

Yes, I've been waiting since the game came out, and one finally appeared in the UCD last week!

Here's how i ground away the 'in game days' and got my toojay :dunce:

-Get in panoz gtr1 go to A-spec, select expert races, and then pick a group of races with 5 races in it (ignore any champion ships in the group).
-Then load track one, exit once it loaded, load track two, exit, load track three, exit, load track four, exit, load track 5, and exit.

This ritual (it doesn't have to involve mounting the panoz but i felt it may have helped) will advance the game forward '5 in game days'. Then go to the UCD and check the new cars.

I felt progressing 5 in game days at a time was the way to go.

**as an aside note: i mounted the red bull x2010 and did the same process... I was frustrated as the toojay didn't appear, but instead nearly all of the rare cars in GT5 kept popping up.

The UCD is fixed, there is an order the cars show up. This has nothing to do with which car your using.
Take a look at this thread.
There you can figure out when your 2J shows up....

Second, try to avoid loading 5 different tracks.
Stay on 1 track, start the race, cancel the race, start the race, cancel the race, etc, etc!
This will speed up the cycle with minutes each time :)

Cheers

Back in the day, we used the license tests. Just load the test and immediately move on to the next one until you're at no. 5. I would think they load faster than a track as there's less to load? Personally I got a 70's B-ticket in exchange for a lvl 23 ticket in the marketplace. Used about 6 tries (Remember to make a usb save first!! I forgot and had to exchange a lvl 21 ticket for a new B-ticket).

That is discussed 100 times and some peoples is lisences faster and some races..
I got ucd refreshed faster with races.

I cant see the point of getting so many 2J's when you cannot change anything on it. Or even paint it!

1. Some like to collect 0/0/0 cars.
2. Keep one as a high mileage car for certain PP events.
3. Only 3 tuning sheets, some may have track specific tunes which out number the 3 tuning sheets.
4. Some people only drive theirs up to a certain mileage point and disgard them when permanent engine damage occurs.
5. Some people collect them just for the sake of collecting as they don't show up in the UCD that often.

Thats five, enough for you? I'm sure other people have more reasons aswell.

^^👍
6. After being resoundly beaten in the historic car cup by that fabulous sounding washing machine, it became my mission to own as many as possible and get my own back on trial mountain and cote azure!!!

I only bought the 2J originally to beat that event in A and B-Spec. The car's other uses are well known on this site, but I have not really been bothered about using it in that way.
