I've been wondering if I should do this for a while, and I'm going to. I think this could be a blast. Basically, I'll have a set list of cars. All cars are fully tuned .etc, EXCEPT:

YOU MUST NOT HAVE MADE ANY CHANGES TO YOUR TRANSMISSION/SUSPENSION/LSD etc.


They can be installed but you cannot change any settings. I know there is no way to tell and it is based all on trust, but I know most guys here like a good match so this really shouldn't be an issue.



WHERE: INDY, ROOM CALLED 3 MIN COMP GTP
TIME: 3PM PST/6PM EST, Saturday, Nov 19th



What we are doing:


You will have 3 minutes to tune a car from it's stock settings to drag settings. You will then head out to the track (Indy BTW), and race. The best 2/3 races will move on to the next set of cars. Again, you will have 3 minutes to tune your car for drag racing (I will time it with a stopwatch). Tuning includes everything, transmission, suspension, etc. I thought about 2 minutes but that doesn't seem like long enough. Each person will use the same car for each round. There will be a total of 6 rounds. If you don't finish before the time limit, well too bad, use what you have.



CARS:

ROUND 1: Isuzu 4200R Concept '89
ROUND 2: Jeff Gordon NASCAR 2010 (Should be an interesting one)
ROUND 3: Acura NSX '91
ROUND 4: Volkswagon SambaBus '62
ROUND 5: High End G37 '07
ROUND 6: Maserati Gran Turismo S '08

What is it with you people using the fast cars all the freaking time. You do realize that there are 1030 plus cars in this game.

I only put the ones up I know most people will have. I would like to see someone try and do a stock Citreon 2V or whatever it's called but no one has it lol. Same a lot of other cars. I would love to use them but no one has them so theres no competition.
 
I have my GTR tune memorized. lol

And I bet I could do same with the rest.

As far as "I want to use cars that everyone has"

You do realize that there is a premium dealership right?

Choose cars in the prem dealer no one uses... This cars won't work, they are the ones people use most often...
 
i have my GTR, ACR, and no stripe tune memorized so im good on that subject. but i would set it up to where people have to buy a premium car. lets use the ft-86 concept for example. then you should make it to where the performance points are only high enough to accommodate an FC tranny, FC suspension, and racing soft tires. no other mods allowed. then if you do this with stock engines then you will be able to see who can tune and who cant. just my 2 cents worth but you can sign me up for the tourny. @slash- During the 3 minutes will we be able to test as well or are we just planning on putting on a tune and running with it?

Nope, you get 3 minutes of tuning, and if you done before that, great. If not, then bring what you have. You get no testing time, that's part of the challenge.

And please, please, PLEASE, NO CHEATING! I know like I said in the OP there is no way to tell but for this to work you have to be honest.
 
Good concept slash. It will be hard to keep clean

But, anyone can have a car broke in with a legal pad filled with those cars tunes listed above, then load them up race time. Plus, some will practice these tunes in their respective lounges etc... Just a thought buddy.
 
ok my question is now that the car list is changed are we allowed to build them and oil change them or are we running them stock except tranny suspension and RS tires

You are allowed to break them in, oil change, and build them, and you can install all parts, but you are NOT allowed to actually change the settings.

Slash, dude that will never work, I don't think you can trust that people won't tune the trans.some people (I mean kids) just have to win know matter what. You know what I'm talking about, like when you are racing superbirds and then some nut head bring out a ACR and gets a thrill out of beating you...scrubs!... I hate that sh$t.
Dude unless your going to be running your friends and you think you can trust them, then more power to you dude.

That kind of stuff gets an insta-kick the person the kid was racing would then move on.
 
Good idea, but I now know a good basic tune to put on my cars, and I memorized many of my cars tunes. You have to choose cars that are not popular for dragging and even then, people may not have those cars...
 
I did choose cars that aren't popular for drag racing lol. And all those cars are in the premium dealership.
