You might have beat him bracket racing, in a heads-up race with the VR-4 making the stock 11psi you will get stomped. He could be the worst driver in the world and the outcome will be the same.

I have $1,000 right now that says my friends bone-stock '95 VR-4 puts a bus length on your Tahoe before you knew what hit you.

Deal?

Don't under estimate a Tahoe, those things haul ass. I've seen them own a s-10 with a 305 in it before. They can get up and go when they need to.

With those two/three sentences you just proved to me you are the absolute most inexperienced person when it comes to imports that I have ever not seen in my entire life.

The offer still stands Matt.

305's are slow, my mum owned a transam a couple years ago with a 305HO and that would be beaten by a 3000GT

Have you ever driven a Tahoe? I wouldn't think so. You are the most inexperienced person when it comes to domestic trucks, and really inexoerienced when it comes to GM trucks.

Don`t even think about putting them into the same catagory as GTR`s, it would only be a huge offence to the team at NISMO, they are so far from it they don`t even quilify anywhere near the same class.

what are you on about no ones even talking about GTR's, you got to get them off your mind

I looked up some specifications online and wanted to share the information. Correct me if I'm wrong...I had to go to many different web sites and im not sure how trustworthy the information is.

--------------------VR4------Supra RZ------R34 GTR
Horsepower:---320---------320-------------327
Torque:----------315---------315-----------(293) <-- I'm sure this is wrong
0-60:-------------5.5----------5.1------------5.2
1/4 mile:--------13.9--------13.3----------13.7
Weight:--------3737--------3505---------3395

Ok, its slower, by a couple of milliseconds, but guys...comon, its not SLOW. It's not that much heavier either.

sorry ignore this post, read it wrong

BTW the R34 GTR can do it alot faster than that

actually by a few tenths of seconds. . a couple of milli seconds is would actually be .002 seconds. . .

You're right, how dumb of me.. How could I forget about the Tahoe's blazing 16 second 1/4 mile times.

I am inexperienced with GM trucks. I'm also smart enough not to compare a Corvette to a Volkswagen Bug.

As it stands your words carry as much weight as a marshmellow.

I don't own a Tahoe.

But I wasn't the one who brought it up, I'm just going off what you guys started. They asked about a Tahoe beating a VR-4. I told them not to under estimate it. Then you jumped in and threw your unexperienced ass around.

And if you really don't care there is an ignore button

Attempted revenge by the Marshmellow man!

Scrape a few dollars together and come to S.D. Bring that 10 second Tahoe with you.

Well if you want a ten second Tahoe, I guess I could get the guys from a local shop to bring theres. Although I'd let you find out whats under the hood once we got there.

And call me what you like, I'm not 12 it doesn't bug me.

no...read the beginning of the thread. We/I are trying to figure out why 3000GT is so overlooked.

Why is it over looked, because its not that good! Ricers don't want it, to expensive. Racers don't want it, to heavy. Domestic guys don't want it cause its Japanese. Plus I've only ever seen one 3000GT in all of MI. A ton of Stealths, but the stealths blew if you asked me. What a flop, no one bought those.

There happy back on topic.

This may be a little "on-topic", but i dont think that the 3000gt was ever meant for fast quarter mile times, its more of a high-speed crusier. Thats probably why it weighs so much!

Spot on.

The 3000GT (GT for Grand Touring) is a GT car. It's designed to be comfortable at any speed, for any distance. Everything the long-distance driver could want is contained within it as standard. It may not blitz the "quarter mile", but what use would that be in Japan exactly? Or "Europe"? Or anywhere but a country with a large amount of dead straight roads?

Now, I'm not into car-bashing. Generally I like every car (except the Hyundai Getz and the Chrysler PT Cruiser). Every car mentioned in this thread so far - with the exception of the spontaneously brought up R34 GT-R - may be ahead at a quarter of a mile, but come the first corner they'd be stuffed. As I pointed out earlier I was passed by a GTO (Import) on a 90 degree turn going twice my speed. And I was doing 35-40mph.

They are road cars, not drag cars. Not even track cars. But almost everything you'd want it to do, it does well. It's not shabby on that sprint you're all so fond of. It handles well on the twisties. It'll take your whole family (as long as you've discovered contraception after the first three kids), and your luggage. They'll all be comfortable and, if you slot it into top gear and cruise at 75mph, it'll get there cheaper than most other cars mentioned in this thread.

I don't know why they aren't more popular. Perhaps the over-50s bracket - where you start to like the long distance cruisers - can't afford to buy them, or want something more understated, or less expensive to maintain. I don't know. But they are GOOD cars.

Maybe the 3000GT should stay overlooked. Those Rice Boys won't know what hit them when one blows past them.
