Hey guys :) i wanted to know why 350Z's replaced the skylines
is it because Nissan and Calsonic want to try something different?

Not all the Fairlady Zs shown in those pictures are the same.

The Fairlady Z has been used in GT300 class for a while now, and is currently being run by the both Endless Sports (#13 Endless Advan Z) and MOLA (#46 Dream Cube's Advan Z and #47 CCI Recaldent Z) using the VQ35DE engine. These GT300 class Fairlady Zs are closer to the production car.

The Fairlady Zs being used in GT500 class have been used since 2004 when Nismo replaced the aged Nissan Skyline GT-Rs they had been using in JGTC. The current GT500 class Fairlady Zs are run by Nismo (#1 Xanavi Nismo Z and #22 Motul Pitwork Z), Hasemi Motorsport (#3 G'Zox Hasemi Z), and Team Impul (#12 Calsonic Impul Z). All of these GT500 cars feature more aerodynamic bodywork and wider bodies then the production cars. They also feature the VQ30DETT engine that Nismo previously used in the Skyline GT-Rs in 2003.
