i hope the moderators don't boot me for language...

but yes, the evo 8 is a " pussified" version of the evo 7. smooth curves are for chics. the car definately lost its aggressive look. I hope they bring the skyline next...i hope nissan will want to get in on this lancer vs wrx competition :cool:
 
i thought that they already brought the skyline to the states, which is sad.

what hit me was when Nissan finally stopped producing the R34 at the end of summer last year, which was sad :( so it looks like that all of the good sport cars have gone nuts [ there are exceptions :)]
 
they dont really offer the R34 here. of course if you got about 40k, you can get one imported to meet US pollution specs...but i never see em round much.

OK I worded that above post all wrong. I'll try again:

Nissan is planning to release a Skyline into the US market. I still dont know the release date yet but it might be out at the end of this year as a 2004 model or next year...
 
MAN...maybe i should just save and save and save til they bring the skyline. Dont know if i can hold out that long though...we'll just have to see i guess
 
HAHA...i like the 'off-topic' topics, but it's all good. right now, japan is considering the infinity g35 sedan the skyline. it's kinda wierd too. if you don't believe it, check out screenshots of gran turismo concept tokyo, it's called the SKYLINE. not no r35, it's just a skyline. kinda crazy. don't like.
 
actually...he's right. they had a skyline concept car out a while ago that they ended up releasing as the g35 under infinity. I have ALSO seen photos floating around about a new skyline...but i dont know if they're really gonna bring it here. oh yeah, and when i said 40k to get one sent here...thats just to get it sent. doesnt even include the price of the car:(

It's going to be called the Nissan GT-R. No more skyline in the name, thats just for the g35. It will be coming to the US though.

btw: Importing a r34 isn't 40k it's around 90k. If you were to get a used r32, then maybe you could get it for 40k.
 
^^^ yeah i know about the price...i shoulda clarified it better. what i was saying is that its about 40k on top of the price of the car...which is about 45-50k. total price for your skyline: 90k. unless i've been mis-informed and it really costs 90k just to ship the car...not including the price of the car itself. man that would REALLY suck.

oh and if they're bringin the GT-R here...i'll definately be savin up for it. in four years i'll be done with med school. i think i should be able to afford it on a doctors salary:D
 
man...let's all just move to japan haha....things are a tad cheaper there too....if we use US dollars. we should bring a crap-load of US dollars then!!!
 
Yes there will be a Skyline and not under the G35 nameplate. They specifically said Skyline and showed a photo. It was in an issue of 'Autoweek' a month or so ago...
 
hah...so i was right...i knew it...cuz i was looking at GTC screenshots of the car selection menu..and i happened to see that infinity g35, except instead of saying g35 above the car, it said 'skyline'....that's it
 
Well I guess they're going to go with skyline then. I remember them dropping the Skyline name for the GT-R but I guess they changed that. It doesn't really matter I'm happy we're getting it in the US. It's not an r35 though, just a Skyline GT-R.
 
are they going to show it in the tokyo show then if it's coming out this year?

that's what they said in another website. i'll try to find it :)
 
i went to the l.a. auto show last week and i saw the g35 there and it also said that it was considered a skyline back in japan, forgot to tell you that. man....there are some nice cars there. the rx-8 is great.

Not that this was intentionally...but it was still cool: One time on test course i spun around...ALOT. i couldnt even count the number of times, but im sure it must have been like a 1080. It was the some pro league race and i got bored so i started just side-swiping the AI cars, tryin to make them crash. Hard as hell since u cant see them when your doin that. well i misjudged one of my attempts and the i hit the front of the AI car, which acted as a ramp and got me airborn in a hurry. I came down and spun for a good 600+ meters.

I've been practicing that 360 spin-->drift manuever in my R34...its gettin close
 
yeah man...keep practicing....you must have a lot of dedication and patience to perfect them. after perfecting a genuiine 360 drift....you can practically get out of any mistake or spinout during a race cuz you'll know ur cars behavior forward and backwards.
 
thats for sure...theres been times when i had the AI on my @$$, spun out for some stupid mistake, but recovered a 360 so fast that i still blocked the AI from passing and held the lead. those moves just cry "replay save"
 
hahaa....i love those moments!! when i drift i usually do it at the 'race and settings' or the 'free run' on arcade mode....but when i drift during a race, it's a totally different environment!! it feels great when you drift past someone or just 360 drifting when in front of the whole pack. you sorta get that adrenaline rush like as if you were really in the car!!

There are *no* Imprezas in Gran Dorifto I or II. How do I konw? I made them. :) You're probably thinking of someone else's video.

My videos also feature RX7s, Silvias, AE86s, MR2s, Altezzas, etc.

here is Oz we have a name for a 360 degree + drift.....

pll do them all the time here. they go down to thier local patch of grass (sports oval) or patch of dirt (sports oval in barren regions) or indeed race track and spin their cars around and around and arounnd and around and around and............ i think you get the idea.
i cant really think of any track on gt3 where you would have to drift... and keep drifting till you were facing in the same direction you were b4 you started drifting :odd:

maybe there are hidden tracks :rolleyes:
