Forza Horizon 4 October Content Update: Route Creator Arrives, Hot Wheels Return

Patch notes, courtesy of Nitro Glitter:

We're constantly working to improve the experience in Forza Horizon 4. Below you will find a summary of items fixed or improved upon in this Content Update.

Route Creator
This update adds the Route Creator to Forza Horizon 4. Create custom routes of up to 40 miles from any Asphalt, Dirt or Cross-Country Event starting location. Draw the custom route by driving your car, and place checkpoints anywhere you want to. Blueprint Creator has been updated to allow you to use custom routes.

New Horizon Story
This update adds a new Horizon Story to Forza Horizon 4 called 'British Racing Green', which explores a century of cars built in Britain. Access the story in Broadway by reaching Level 50, and unlock a new quick chat phrase, a new unique clothing item, and the classic Bentley 8 Litre.

Nice to see the update BUT those new car pass additions look way too meh.

Well the new buggy is nice! In FH3 it already bugged (pun intended) me that there were so few buggies while the car division was so fun. I was glad to see the VW buggy added and now this Can-Am buggy (weird name).

The exclusive cars for November's Forzathon Shop couldn't be more unappealing to me, but I actually don't mind how it enables me to focus entirely on playing RDR for some weeks without having to distract myself with grabbing limited goodies in Forza.

I agree, I'm sick and tired of the hot wheels cars, absolutely no interest in them whatsoever other than keeping the car collection complete. And if hot wheels had to be added, I'd much rather have seen that rip rod since that was also a buggy.

Agree on the RDR comment. :)

I got to say with the addition of this easy to use and important route creator feature, this game is hands down the best FORZA game period!

It already was at launch IMO thanks to seasons and Forzathon Live. :) But agreed, it's a huge new feature and so great to use! Also great is that most likely the seasons and route creator are here to stay forever, both FH4 expansions and every future FH game. Yummie!

I tried the route creator briefly yesterday and it works great! It doesn't interpolate the driving line between 2 checkpoints though, it copies however you drove. I tried to zigzag on a straight line to see what the route creator did and that zigzag was there for the race. :) What a way to confuse people for braking into a corner that is not there. :P

I personally like the car pass additions. I saw an Insignia VXR for the first time in literally years the other day and wondered if it'd make an appearance in H4 somehow - lo and behold it's here! Also thrilled to see the VX220 return, and the Performante was used a lot by me in Horizon 1, so I'm also kinda glad it's back.

So...what engine sounds were fixed? Anyone come across any?
Same here, would be nice if they listed which ones they corrected. I do know that Ford Fpv gt 351 sport is nearly silent which that's a car that needs it's audio corrected now.

the car pass cars are absolute crap. as I said in another thread the mustang and lambo are cars already in the game but just a variant, the vauxhall's are old forza cars that should have been in from the start or forzathon unlocks and the hoonigan stuff is boring.

My auto update has not turned up yet (I have tried switching on/off). I have gone in to manage game to retrieve manually etc. Anyone else in the UK not received the update yet as mine usually just updates when I go in to the game. I have had the in game update notes and all about it in the menus. Oh well it might turn up tomorrow (25th).

I wonder what level the creator will be available at. Because a person could theoretically make one of their first races a goliath type race in the prologue; do 20 laps and be done with the prologue in "1" race.

I'm gonna make a nice circuit race tonight, meant to cruise up the coast and down the expressway.

Can’t wait for the Twin Mill’s re-inclusion. I tuned mine in Horizon 3 to be capable of 1.1-1.2 second 0-60 MPH times.

I wonder if drag racing tires would be an option since the Twin Mill already has tire compound upgrades.

That'll probably explain the last two car pass cars showing as unavailable to me, too?

I see nothing wrong with the current cars up for grabs for each week. I don't know what some others prefer, but for me this is fine. I'm happy to see the return of some old cars from previous Forzas (especially that VX220, did not expect that), while seeing new cars be added into the mix (whether its from hot wheels or hoonigan).

In fact, I'm happy to see any car. :sly:

I was actually thinking about the VX220/Opel Speedster last week and how I haven't seen them in a game for years. Glad it's making a come back. Always like that thing
