Forza Horizon 4 Season Change: Summer's French Connection

I have nothing against the Peugeot 207 Super 2000 in its own right, but in the grander scheme of things there’s no coherence between the modern rally cars in this game. As such it doesn’t add a whole lot to the dispersed rally monsters division. Just too fragmented.

On a related note, the Peugeot 207 RC and 206 RC were also leaked. Now those are cars I would really appreciate seeing to further spice up the contested hot hatch rivalries in FH4. Maybe another time.

Couldn't agree more. Do we even have any rally cars from the 2000s? If this were DLC for Dirt or something I would understand. Otherwise, makes no sense. Just seems like a filler to me, nothing else. Still waiting for the Brera that was on the leaked list....

Getting the second showoff skill with a Vintage Racer in #Forzathon is giving me a couple of problems. I'll just keep racing and hope it shows up.

The trick to it for me is to pick a track with a fairly slow corner with lots of run-up, handbrake turn it very sideways, and pass an opponent fairly closely without hitting anything, including trackside objects. Rewind and retry until successful. The circuit near Bamburgh works well, or the two in the city centre of the Lego map.

If you're really stuck, I can recommend using the Bugatti - the opponents will largely be heavy Bentleys that have to slow down a lot more for the turns, giving you more chance to pass them. Last time this one came up, I did it at the aforementioned Bamburgh race without needing rewinds, in the standard 3 laps.

I am enjoying it, it's a fun little car.
Same man. Im grateful for this car even if it's the "only" 2000s rally car. As long as we have dirt paths, mud and weather effects this car fits right in. Im thinking of pitting it against the fiesta rally car i use often since both make less then 500hp stock and to me both are nearly as nimble i just might slap a turbo on the Peugeot and fine tune it.

Having to use Horizon's least satisfying stab at car physics to win it isn't worth it. I shall rather wait to find one in the Ah than endure cross country races in hyper rally cars with no grip.

No thank you.

Thanks for the T35 tip - it was a great car for the seasonal race as well. I'm too lazy and dumb to upgrade cars by hand so I normally buy setups off the shelf and am following a guy called Dont Giva Deuce who has provided me with several match-winning tunes.

The rally monsters group is just dumb and feels like it was put together by somebody who knows very little about cars. Why is the Ford Capri FE included and the Lancia Delta S4 is not? Why is the Opel Manta in there..it's not exactly monstrous. It should be group B and modern rallycross if it just has to exist.

After really struggling with the Audi Sport Quattro (group B) I switched to one of the Hoonigan Focii and it wasn't too bad. The hoonigan rallycross cars seem to have big stability & grip buffs off road. It still wasn't what I'd call pleasant, but I didn't have to rewind nearly as much to win as I did in the Audi. For what it's worth...I despise cross country races in this game.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't enjoy the Forest Monsters event. Tried a Hoonigan Fiesta, no grip, got thrown around too easily by the bumps. So, I just said screw it and upgraded and tuned the Manta to around 850 PI and went with that. I really wish they'd stop pairing Rally Monsters with Cross Country races.

Think I used the Quattro S1 and the Fiesta RX for the event. I believe I used the Quattro in only one race and came third. It bounced all over the place and had huge turbo lag. The Fiesta was far more stable although had a lower top speed. Definitely not a fan of Cross Country with rallying machines though.

There are several reasons that make this week's Rally Monster event difficult.
First, unlike vehicles that are designed to be used in cross-country events (such as extreme off-road), all of the Rally Monster vehicles tend to be lower in height and lighter in weight than those vehicles.
This means that these cars have a higher penalty for slowing down in the water, and tend to behave more erratically when hitting obstacles or jumping.
And many of the courses run in these events are rainy, making the surface very slippery.

And above all, the higher the class of the car, the more powerful the rubber band cheats tend to be in FH4 drivatar.
In other words, even though we struggle with unstable cars and slippery surfaces, they are racing better cars than us with their infinite grip and 10 million horsepower engines. It can't be easy.
They also don't suffer any such slowdown penalties, as they are immune to any obstacles or water when they are more than a certain distance away from the player. The gap between you and them will only widen further.
To add to that, one of the races included in this championship is a course that is particularly susceptible to the drivatar cheat...

If you want to complete this event easily, your best option would be to upgrade your Opel Manta to S801.
This will make all the drivatars use A-class cars, and the speed range of the race itself will be reduced, which will greatly reduce the difficulty.
Also, unlike the other rally monsters, the Manta is a front engine car. This makes it easy to guess how the car will behave in the corners and makes it relatively easy to drive, which is one of the reasons why I recommend this car.

If you don't want to cheat and complete the event in a straightforward manner, I would recommend the Hoonigan Escort Cosworth.
This car has a 7-speed gearbox, which gives it an advantage over other cars in terms of acceleration, and it also has excellent stability.
This car also has a front engine, so it is not as difficult to drive as a midship or rear engine.
The only drawback is that this car is a paid DLC.

It's funny how we all have different feelings about the events in a week's season in FH4.

For me I absolutely hated Vintage Racers in the Summer Season (see my posts in General thread yesterday) but I loved Forrest Monsters!

I used the Hannagan Focus RS for the event and whilst it was a little bit tricky the raw power of the car kept ME ahead of the drivatars quite easily
and liked the selection of tracks for the event.

All in all though I didn't quite feel the same enjoyment I usually have from a week's season in Forza this time round but this coming week looks more interesting so looking forward to playing that over the weekend!

Why is that 207 so damn loud? I haven't driven it yet, but I was in some Team Adventure races with them, and their exhaust volume is completely off the scale. When you've got one next to you, you can't hear your own car at all.

Noticed it too. Also no shifting animation in the car. Maybe the Steam launch took most of their attention.
