3D will be a passing trend, just like motion-sensing controls
Stating an opinion as fact does't actually make your opinion a fact. In fact, 99.8% of the time an opinion stated as a fact is actually wrong. Of course, that's just my opinion....
Seriously though, why would you claim that motion-sensing controls are a passing trend? Have you heard of the Wii? The iPhone? The iPod Touch? The iPad? All of those are very successful and all of them use motion-sensing technology to various degrees.
Back to the topic at hand:
I've been researching this a LOT because I would very much like to have 3D up and running the day I bring GT5 home. It is darn near impossible at this point to find out which equipment is HDMI 1.4 compliant and which isn't. I've been on the phone and on "chat" support and email where possible with a number of companies.
I'm thinking that for the interim the ACER GD235HZ or the Alienware AW2310. Both are slightly smaller than I would like, but they are (relatively) inexpensive and I can mount them close to me for now. Then when the whole 3D thing has been around a bit longer I can invest in a projector or something else (like 3D goggles, that would be geeky but cool too). But neither company seems to know anything about HDMI 1.4 or whether or not their displays are compliant with it. Frustrating as heck....
So my current plan, as things stand, is to wait until just before GT5 is released and then order what I want at a local Best Buy so that I can then return it if it doesn't work and get something else. Rinse and repeat...
