This seems like the most suitable place to post this...

I'm currently working on a racing game, and I'm in need of modelers who would be willing to model me a car or two.

Specifically, the models need to be in 3ds format, around 200-500 polys, and textured too (no logos, however). By contributing your model, you are giving me permission to use your model for this project and future freeware endeavors of mine. You will, of course, be given due credit for the model wherever I use it.

Here's the cars I'm looking for models of, currently:

Attention to detail is desired, even though the models should be low poly. When texturing the car, don't include any recognizable trademarked symbols or names, but otherwise try and get it as close to the pictures I've provided.

If you're wondering about scale, I can scale the model to the proper size, so don't worry about that.

Greatly appreciated. :)

400 polys, Not much of a model huh... 3D models take quite awhile to create, and without any back-end, I doubt you will get many takers. If I built a useable 3d-model, I would need some kind of compensation other than just a credit. Do you know anyone who has access to a 3D scanner? Get a good diecast model, and get it scanned. That is probably your best option. But you never know maybe someone around here would do it just for fun.

I built a Ford T Bucket as a 3D solid model in autocad.. does that count?

:dopey: It's in 1:25 scale, though.

I'm not sure you'll find anyone willing to model for just a credit.. And a scanner has to cost big money, right?

Sorry.. It's late and I typed that with half of a brain. Sorry for the spamminess of this post.

I'm sure some people would be willing to lend me a hand. It doesn't only benefit me, it gives them another thing to add to their portfolio. And it's not like they are handing ownership of the model to me (which would most likely be the case if I were paying for it), they can use it for whatever they'd like.

Yay, I highly suggest you ask on the RaceSimCentral Forums. There's tons of modelers there would be willing to help you model something. :)
