From R4's transmission flipping guide and other tunes many people have 3rd gear way high

Do more people set up like that?

Below is how I set it compared to that way

Lol terrible quality but it was drawn on the iPhone equivalent of ms paint..

Also I cannot rotate the pic of r4's transmission so sorry for making you turn your head

Have you guys ever tuned a car were the bottoms of the gears "black line" rather then going up as in the picture, actually going down?
Did you guys get what I ment? Lol

I get What you mean but nope... never Take a pic if you have one :)

The pic of what is to be my method is far from what I end up with. Ill take a pic of what my graph looks like as soon as I can get on my PS3, might even get a video up if i can. Mine are something like the red.

I have a couple actually that gave me much better results then The usual way we do it. Doesn't work on every car but I have about 4 cars that worked great

This trans got my 8.999 a while back, but now it's set to 185, way higher

I have 3 tunes for this one for Indy which top speed is 176 one for SSRX which is 185. It's the tranny I got 8.981. And the other is at 180 working on that... Lol

Ohhh. That clears things up for me, don't have an Indy tune myself, guess I should though...probably why my ACR always gets its butt kicked online lol

This is a BMW M Coupe with 460HP
This is how my method looks if done the way i typed out the steps:
1. set to default
DSCF6484.jpg

2. lower top speed to lowest setting
DSCF6485.jpg

3. set 6th to highest
DSCF6489.jpg

4. lower final gear until you get desired top speed (140mph for this car)
DSCF6490.jpg

5. select top speed and move it up one then back down to lowest
DSCF6491.jpg

6. set final gear to lowest and remember new top speed (141mph for this one)
DSCF6492.jpg

7. reset to default again
8. lower top speed to lowest setting
DSCF6485.jpg

9. lower final gear to the remembered top speed (141mph)
DSCF6493.jpg

10. select top speed and move it up one then back down to lowest
DSCF6494.jpg

11. lower final gear to lowest setting
DSCF6495.jpg

12. set 6th gear to highest (look, back to 140mph)
DSCF6496.jpg

13. set 5th gear to highest
DSCF6497.jpg

14. set 4th gear to highest
DSCF6498.jpg

15. set 1st gear to lowest
DSCF6499.jpg

16. make 3rd gear "pretty" (which means...line it up)
DSCF6500.jpg

See no odd out of order lines. and I did the steps they way I typed them.

You remember that part in Austin powers where he's talking to that guy in the retro beetle and he goes cross eyed...

I posted my pics for the transmission setting that I use. go back to page 1 and look at post 20.

Your basically removing the guesswork for the starting final of the flip process in the first few steps. I still do the trial and error flip :)
