What category of driving rules does the Jag race fit into,5-100% clean hot laps or the under 5 lap race rules?

I believe it's obvious it should belong to 5 laps races... ;)

right Duke? :D

I would hope so,i would hate to be on the 5th lap and touch that right hand wall just before the last turn and have to start over again. :ouch:

edit-after reading the rules 💡 i guess they fall into the same category (hotlap-5 lap) of 100% clean

sorry but...I re-read rules on 5 lapper races...

from how I see it, they say that, any offs, touches or AI touches, happened for AI's fault will be handled as follows...

1 Off or Touch: no penalty
2 Offs or Touches: 1.0 second total penalty
3 Offs or Touches: 3.0 second total penalty
4 or more Offs or Touches: DQ

this means that...in a 5 lapper race at tokyo (city track plenty of walls)...if I hit a wall, it results in a DQ?
nahhhh

I think those rules on touches and offs should be applied also to 5 lapper race, and even without AI

imho...

Yes, the 5-lap Race rules apply with that penalty schedule. I hadn't expected any submittals to include multiple-hot-lap setups so I didn't specifically mention that. However I'm glad that some do, since I like that format; I just didn't anticipate much community support for it.

Bear in mind that these are minor wall touches, of course; a major smack will DQ the run.

Whats the defintion of minor and how will it be reviewed? How many MPH in a "major"?

"Major" is defined as anything where the front face (headlight/grille area) of the car impacts the wall at any angle. Such a collision would render the real car undriveable and thus equals a DNF. This refers to a steep angle impact where the nose of the car is the first point of impact. Front fender 'sideswipe' of 'glancing blow' type touches are excluded from the DNF rules.

Any wall touch of any kind where the car's speed falls by more than 5 mph / 8 kph is also defined as major.

If anyone wants to talk about votes sucking, how's this:

7 out of 10 "races" are Hot Laps
7 out of 10 "races" are Arcade Mode

Sad. I'll leave it at that.

Anything fine with me.
But on which tires will the AI run?
You know, you can enter the race on N1, the AI will have N1 too and then switch to S 3 tires.
I know it´s possible but not the intended scenario for that race.
Please clarify.
And please, do not allow to alter top speed with cars you can´t do it.
Thank.;)

Check the AI tire issue thread.

Thanks IForce,

i already checked.
But the Option given there was the hardest S-cpmpound.
You can easily give the Viper N1 tires, making the race a laugh.

But if the tire choice is open, i´ll be fine with it, wont i? :p

Hmmm you have a point there.

Going to do some tire testing w/ times...

after all...it didn't hurt too much for my team :D :D :D got the guy who can do it :D
alerted him to give 200 % 'cos there's Harald in it :D

This is why I had proposed that drivers enter on the hardest compound of their particular grouping - in other words, S1 or R1, in order to limit the amount of disadvantage you could dictate to the AI.

However we are of course stuck with the lack of verification here.

On N1s the Viper will go off Sears Point at Turn Three, never to be seen or heard from again.

Started may races on various different tires and found that the Viper and Spyker will always go off the track at the 1st right-hander on sport tires. It didnt seem to make any difference which compound they had on either, off every time. This was the same at the 2nd right at T1

When i switched them to normal tires they would stay on the track at the first right then go off on the 2nd one at T1.It didnt seem to matter which compound of normal tires the result was the same.

Also the guy in the Viper is crazy,in the S's after T2 he will run wide, hit the cones, then drive across the grass and come flying back across the track and damn near hit me before ending up in the gravel on the right.

Isn't the real race between the dozen human drivers doing this race and not between them and the AI? Don't we really want the AI to be as small of a factor as possible? That is the point being made in the AI Tires Issue Topic that eveyone is agreeing with.
