just leave the car stopped when the race starts, then come back after fours and cross the finish line, i am asking this because i have not seen it asked before, and also the fact that this is not a lap completed race, and furthermore have not seen this asked before. I am sure that you cant get the XP for just not doing anything but was wondering if anyone has tried this? This would turn A spec into B spec for this one race, however the car would just be sitting on the side, i did over 200 laps and dont think you get any credit for how many laps you do, do you?

Well maybe for kicks i will try this? anyone else try this?

thanks

You have to finish at least the first lap to end the event. The race does not end when the timer reaches 4 hours. And you get 0 Credits and 0 EXP for finishing last.

awesome thanks much for the info, answers my question. back to grinding at indy to level 30.we have to figure a way to get a nice pile up for four hours then lol

I've not found a single race or series where this is the case. Does it apply only to the endurance races?

im watching football now, maybe i will just do it now for some kicks and see what happens since im not playing.

Now I'm not sure anymore...

You even can probably wait behind the finishing line. I haven't tested yet wether you have to drive only the few yards over the finishing line or drive a full (first) lap.

I tried it last night at Tsukuba. Did ten laps. Got a tiny amount of credits and like 3,701 XP. Def not worth it

Opinion opinion opinion, I ran more lap and spent more times on Tsukuba than any other tracks.

It's all a matter of opinion.

i boxed in a yellow mazda who is not moving, after banging im up pretty bad for 7 minutes i got him boxed in, i have completed 10 laps and he is not moving, thus after fours i will be in eleventh place, that is if he doesnt move for another 3 and half hours lol. we shall see, i guess its worth a shot.

The Rally races in the Special Events, spend half an hour doing those freakin advanced rallies, come in 4th and you'll get 0 exp and 0 credits.... what a waste of time...

Hurricane - You managed to capitalise it in the title, not lets try it in your posts...

I have a theory that you get more XP's based off the amount of turns, stops, and goes that your car goes through. And that's why the Turdburglar always gives more XP's.

Anyone else agree?

I am currently trying this, i am at 52 minutes in and have ten laps, and the yellow car has not moved that i have boxed in, maybe your right squib, three hours till i find out, if all holds well.

That's a Special Event. Nothing I've encountered under either A or B-Spec rewards last with nothing. Yet.

No, because it's not true. The amount of XP is based only on your finishing position and is a fixed amount for each race.

Good luck! Would be nice to do that 9 hour one while I'm sleeping for XP grinding LOL

thanks i appreciate it, yea it would be something, i cant believe the AI driver is sitting thier, gues he got tired of the pounding he took for the first seven mintues, hey you never know, its now 1 hour and 13 minutes into it, nothing since has changed, AI driver is still sitting their.

maybe the last hour i will try and do some laps, so you 213, 000or so XP for this race if i am correct, imagine if i get 100xp lol.
UPDATE: Video being down loaded as we speak of the 21 minute marker.

if XP is already set in stone so to speak, at least we will know how much we get for 11th place at the least.

well a warning for the above sentences, it amazes me, really does, its Sunday and you have to start a sentence with a capital. People need to smile a little more, have fun, live life, and stop with all the power they think they have to tell others what to say and what not too. It doesn't matter i love my life and always smile, cheers to you all, and to all the jealousy out their, smile, have a drink, and find some hapiness.

Thanks for telling me I'm wrong by saying it's right.

Different races = different turns breaks and gassing. Hence the different xp's on each race.

I was saying XP in general.

And by you saying I'm wrong, you're also saying he will make the same amount of XP's for sitting there than he would have by finishing 11th racing the whole time.

Nnnkay.

Different races = different turns breaks and gassing. Hence the different xp's on each race.

But he can also do different turning, braking and gassing - and even different amounts of it altogether in a timed endurance - in the same race.

The XP for a given race is fixed. If you finish first, you get the same XP as anyone else who finishes first in the same race. If you finish second, you get the same XP as anyone else who finishes second in the same race. It is fixed.

And by you saying I'm wrong, you're also saying he will make the same amount of XP's for sitting there than he would have by finishing 11th racing the whole time.

If sitting there then crossing the line last constitutes finishing, he will get the same amount of XP as he would driving the whole race and finishing last. Go and test it out if you don't believe me - I have.

I think we are saying the same thing and writing it differently.

Regardless, if you 'have' already, why didn't you tell the op he will get the same points for 12th sitting there doing nothing for 4 hrs instead of making him wait out the 4 hrs? LOL

Has it been 4hrs yet? :p

ok just finished up, completed 24 laps, was 179 behind the leader, received 4,200 and 3200XP, so it doesnt work that well lol.

But since i was on a rampage today, i might have did myself one up lol,
i am currently driving my FGT around Indy the ten lap one, i have the GT force and i currently have the gas pedal held down to full throttle, and I have the sterring wheel slightly tied, yes tied and turned to the right, currently i am driving the side of the wall, going 90 mph and just getting the XP, not a bad idea while watching some football, took a couple seconds to set it up and make it work, so watching football and getting 9300 XP for doing nada lol.

8 minutes in, and 5 laps, so basically 20min for this.

just configured for it to go 130 mph, riding the wal and watching tv.

UPDATE: 10 laps, 14 minutes, dont forget for the first 6 laps i was going 90mph, now i am going 130 mph,

UPDATE: got 7900 xp for doing nada, dont get the full amount, but not that bad. last place and 32,000 credit

I did this race a week and half ago. i split it up in 2 2hour stints. it wasnt that bad. i ran the same lap times with in .500 for lke 20-30 laps.

1. run indy500
2. race first 75 laps in your x1 at 33 secs a lap
3. rubberband the right stick so you're giving WOT
4. ride the wall at 47 seconds a lap
5. ???
6. profit

Actually for the Miata Race anyway you get 3k exp for coming in last. I ran 3 laps then let it sit for 4hrs then crossed the finish line.

I was hoping it would give me like 100k or something for last place so I could cheat the system and level easily but i guess not :(

I do not know but I would assume the xp would have something to do with laps. Most likely you would have to complete at least x number of laps to get any kind of reward for the event but then that is just a guess.

My original post.

As I said, I've not encountered a race where you get nothing for coming last - or where you get a different amount of XP for doing things differently and finishing in the same place. However, since I've not done the endurance races yet, I can't say for sure that this is always the case. The test seems to show that, in fact, it is.

Shame it didn't work but nice try!

When i did this i let them have 1 hours head start so i reduced it to a 3hr endurance which eased the pain. Also i had something to really fight for which made it far more enjoyable. I often gave the leader a cheeky bump off the track every time i unlapped myself:)
