So, another GTP member mentioned this a while ago, so I looked into it.

It's a 48 hour endurance race being held at Navarra circuit in northern Spain featuring mixed classes of vehicles. Although at the moment the entry list doesn't offer many big names it looks like it could be a lot of fun... very much in the ilk of the Britcar 24hr at Silverstone, which I always enjoy hugely.

It's a first, as far as I know, being a 48 hour race, and they have issued some regulations that are a little different to some other endurance races, mostly to give everyone the opportunity to make it to the end of the race.

I'm thinking about going myself. It's a 1000 mile drive each way from where I live in the UK and as a road trip it will take me through Le Mans, Bordeaux and to Pamplona in Spain, so it will be a pretty cool road trip anyway, with the bonus of a pretty unique endurance race thrown in too.

What's everyones take on this?

Also, anyone been to Navarra before? could do with some intel!

Thats crazy! I guess this is for those who think a 24 hour race is too short.. :p

You'd have to adjust your sleep schedule before the race. Watching at night is the best part.

For the Britcar 24 I normally just stay awake for as long as possible and end up dropping off around 4 am, sleep till about 8 and then feel like rubbish all day. Probably need to avoid doing that for the 48 if I go.

Most likely.

It seems for a mere 28,000 Euros you can pick up a seat in the GT2 class, Ferrari F430

Hmmm... Anyone want's to get rid of some spare change?? Say...28,000 Euros??

my god.
isnt that deadly to stay up and drive for so long?

Not deadly. Mostly because it's not possible as you black out after 3ish days with no sleep.

But yes they sleep during breaks.

It's there going to be any television broadcast or Internet live streaming of this race?

I'd have to say that I highly doubt it, considering how unpublicised it is.
