Ok, i've been playing GT since.. GT2! And it seems that the only endurance races i've ever even attempted are the Daytona/ Indy 100 lap races! I've wanted to step that up a notch by doing the 4hours of Nurb. I just wanted some tips on what i could do throughout the race to keep my occupied as 4 horus of NON STOP racing.. cant be all the fun right? Especially on this monster of a track...:nervous:

Check this thread, it has lots of research on fun cars to use for close races!

Use an m3 07
Your mind will be occupied all race trying to save tyres, at least for me
Still is very doable

Also more tipsif you can tell me if ur using a wheel or dpad

Im using a Duelshock 3, i suppose that means it'll be abit harder eh?

Use a wicked car and "experiment"! At least after you get a good lead. Try drifting technical corners, try new driving style, or act like a lunatic. But the track is hard to get tired of. Listen to fast paced music too!

Im just deciding on the car... thats more of what i'm concerned about! I need something that can handle like a beauty, as my skills on the corners around this track are terrible..:yuck:

I'd use furai, it turns like an f1 car
For fun, I use Alfa tz2, it doesn't handle as well, but it is incredibly fun and still turns well.

Anything else in mind? Preferably premium! looking at the back of a car for 4hrs isn't very interesting and cockpit view should help with that :dopey:

If you read the link I posted, the FT-86 Concept provided one of the closest races on the board, and its also premium.

I was thinking of going along wit that, i enjoy that car anyhow! I think im about ready to do this endurance.. just need some practice laps :)

Hi, The Merc. CLK touring car (D2) is a great car around the "ring". Tuned: 622Hp @ 1000Kg. McLaren F1. Tuned: 879Hp.@ 970 Kg. is also awesome. You could do it with the Formula GT though and blow everthing away. Don't forget that there's a PAUSE button (start) so you can take a pee. Have fun.

How about the Mazda 787B? You can try and improve on your lap time every lap to keep you interested. That's what I did.

I never normally use any aids except ABS (even turn that off sometimes) but when it comes to the endurance races and tyre wear comes an issue I would recommend turning the traction control to 1-2 just to stop the wheels slipping through the slow corners. On nurburgring I can probably get an extra lap from my tyres just because I put tc on 1.

I used the High End G37. I wish i didn't. Way too easy. Wish I had more of a challenge than just trying to better my lap time.

Don't pick too good of a car because than it's not as exciting.

This. Fully modded with RS tyres I predict it could beat everything but the R8 LMS (duh) and the S2k Turbo (also duh). The grip on the tyres is phenomenal and you will brake a lot later than the AI everywhere. :D

Shooting for a PP between 525-550 will allow you almost an assured victory, BUT you will have to stay alert, as you will only probably gain up to a 4 minute advantage with correct pit strategy. 300 horsepower, 1000 kg with some tuning to reduce wheelspin/oversteer for MR/FR cars and you're good to go. A FF/4WD car would be good for comfort as you wont have too much to worry about fighting it. A Premium Skyline R34 (for example) with full weight reduction, ECT, Full Racing intake/exhaust and Racing Softs would make it fun and easy.

I think i`m going to use the premium Yellowhat, fully tuned with racing tyres and i`m going to restart the race until the Jaguar XJR-9 is in it. That should be interesting on the long straight. I`m not too handy preserving tyres so it could be close.

Derp.

Have fun spending infinty+ hours trying to get an XJR-9 against you in that race...

I've never seen the XJR-9 in that race and I've done it a few times. I can't recall it being mentioned in the thread in the Race reports. It's usually Tuner cars and the "best" car that has been reported/confirmed that I know of is the R8 LMS Race Car... no where near the power of the XJR-9. If you have had this happen several times, please post a photo of it so that those of us do that race a lot can be prepared to face it. We usually race with lower PP values and it would be tough to beat it with anything less than 550PP, and we normally shoot for 450-500PP. I know I'd greatly appreciate it!

Hm, that`s strange. I saw it frequently in that race. At least 1 out of every 6 or 7 tries. How you like them apples Alex?

You sure you're not thinking of the 24hr race?

It's not mentioned in the typical opponents list. The highest pp car is the Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo which is 614. There is no XJR-9 because it would simply outclass the other computers with it's 708pp (That's what mine has but haven't changed the oil or driven it and tuned it yet). Please show me a picture of it in the 4 hour race against you and I'll tell you how I like my apples.

Please use a more witty insult/comment/whatever that was than the type my 6 year old cousin would say.

Didn`t you start your reply with 'Derp.'? That`s why i replied 'how you like them apples', it means 'so there' (to call attention to a small personal triumph).

I started the 4 hour ring enduro about 20 times to test my cars, i like the long version of the ring. So i`m sure i saw it, at least 2 times actually. It was also reported in this thread (the same enduro):
