I've just recently started exploring more carefully some 4WD cars in GT6, and was amazed by the performance of some of them, Audi quattro S1 peak '87 is really blowing my mind with the ammount of grip on racing hard, that is just insane...

I've tried several others that I really wanted, such as Calibra Touring car '94 and Subaru impreza (cusco dunlop '08)...before that, when I was doing the career races I really drove the heart out of the GT-R R35, that was also really, really good : )

So, I'm looking to get some info and recommendations on cars that give that stunning 4WD experience and pleasure I really found in the Audi and Subaru, any suggestions and/or tuning tips are also welcome!

Thanks

The AYC system on the evo's is a must for any 4wd fan.

Beware you can't modify the exterior of the premium evo IX.

I have lots of fun in the evo's, but also R32 skyline, HPA motorsport R32, mines BNR34 (personal favourite of mine)

Also the other Pikes Peak cars. Monster suzukis etc.

There is a 4wd alfa romeo which is a bit left field.

Escort Cosworth and RS200 rally cars, and the other group b rally cars.

All noteworthy cars in my opinion.

Not sure if it fits in with "stunning 4WD experience", but the 1998 Audi S4 (fully upgraded, richest nitrous mix, Comfort Hard tyres, locked diffs) will spin all four wheels through every gear until it tops out 👍

Play with the Lancer Evos. Don't forget to turn their AYC onto 100%. Oh, only GSRs, since the RSs in game don't have AYC. I recommend the Evo IX for fun.

Assuming you aren't looking exclusively for rally cars, I suggest the Tommy Kaira ZZII. It is very light, has a GTR motor, and is 4WD (meaning it's balls-to-the-wall fast, and corners like a dream)! Need I say more...

ZZ2 for being a cheetor,
RS200 is a well balanced 4wd
Skyline gtr-32 for being a beast when tuned properly.

I used the RUF CTR2 and the Subaru Super Touring Car for many races. They are really fun to drive !

But my favorite is, since GT2, the Subaru Imprezza 22b-STi. Currently on GT6 I have this car twice. One stock and one tuned to 550 pp (all except turbo if I clearly remember) to race the Turbo series. This car is simply awesome ! Not really efficient, but so much fun to drive.

It's sad that this car is not premium and has only a few custom parts. And this is the only reason I like the fact they have removed the used car dealership, I wasn't able to have this car more than once in GT5.

Aah yes! I also love the 22B. Just looking at those wide fenders...awesome!!

Only 1? I feel sorry for you. If I remember correctly, I've manage to get 5 or 6 of them ;-)

Thank you all for your input, I really appreciate it...

Last night I tried some of the cars you mentioned...I usually don't do any tuning on the cars when testing (except changing the brake balance) so it was fun to see them running stock

The Aventador is a bit heavy, but the power is there, so it was a challenge not to lose him when exiting from corners...a bit different experience than the others, but still a lot of fun : )

The BNR34 & Evo IX were just beautiful, really good recommendations there...tho I have to try the AYC to 100%, stock was 30% if I'm not mistaken.

I already owned the Tommykaira (did the ''Like the wind'' challenge with that car) but I have to remove all that power and try it on some of the tracks I usually drive on when testing.

Since I'm rather low on credits now, I'm gonna test the STi Impreza later, but thank you all again for great tips ; )

Audi RS4 '01
Subaru S206 NBR Challenge Package '12
Infinity FX45 Concept '02
Mitsubishi 3000GT/GTO MR '98
Mazda Mazdaspeed Atenza '05
Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 '85

These are my favourite 4WD Cars that actually perform pretty well. Some need heavy tuning, some are awesome stock. It depends what you need out of them. The Subaru is a track monster, having grip like glue. The Peugeot is unlimited fun with the right setting. Stable drifting. All the others are in between, but give you fun driving. Try them out.

As Fussy Fez has already listed, check out the Mine's BNR34 Skyline GT-R N1 base '06

Only 200,000 credits and NOTHING has the right to have so much grip @ 600 pp on Sports Hard.

You might disagree with me, but the Audi R8 road-cars are excellent 4WD choices in my opinion. The 4.2 is the best handling in my opinion, but isn`t anywhere near as fast as the 5.2. But again, the 5.2 is more demanding at the limit compared to the 4.2, so it`s your own choice which one you choose.

Thank you all again...

I grinded up some credits and had the chance to try the Peugeot 205...that's an insane ride, really fun to drive stock as it is! You're right about it needing some proper tuning for race purposes...I never was into drifting in this game, but this car is really making it fun for a drift-noob like me, I was testing it in Deep Forest and it was drifting through almost all the longer curves, really great
