5. It's friggin fast... really fast! This is fine though, 1,400hp+ = speed should be predictable. However, this is nearly twice as much HP as a stock FGT and usually cars with this much don't fair to well outside a straight line of 1,320ft.

4. The turbine engine is awesome. I like how it sucks up the contents of any sand pit you're destined to run it into (even though it has the best handling, braking, and most grip of any car in the game). The illusion is quite complete when you're shooting 200lbs of sand across the track out of the turbine, blinding everyone trying to take the corner you had just wiped out on.

3. Played out... everyone and their mother has one. BUT ALWAYS BE READY TO WHIP IT OUT. Even though nobody cares about it and 9 times out of 10 probably annoyed by X1s - whip it out anyway. YOU MUST SHOW EVERYONE U GOT 1 and are HARDCROE.

2. It it=s absolutely manditory to push/ram/side-swipe people with it - no matter what they're driving or how fast they're going. Do this even with other X1s and most importantly do it to Bugatti Veyrons. Even if the player outwardly objects to it, do it anyway. Even when they're braking - smash up their rear end and continue pushing them to 250mph with their brakes on. Manditory! Oh this works best with a mic too, make sure you gloat about it for at least 30 minutes.

1. While it is pretty fascinating... it is also without a doubt the worst car PD has ever rendered. Not only is its claimed performance phyiscally impossible - it doesn't even exist in real life. Now, I'm no physics expert - and I'm sure we'll find some in this thread - but I'm pretty sure you'll die if you take every turn on Nurburgring at 200mph. I mean, if anyone wants to build something of this caliber and test it themselves in IRL terms, then I would be interested in two facets of this test - the car itself and then your Darwin Award.

I'm not sure the physics are impossible. From a physical perspective, large amounts of downforce, grippy rubber, and the fan all would create massive sticking power. Extreme g-forces like that are pulled in jet fighters for short periods. The driver would need a g-suit mostly likely, need to be physically conditioned to handle it and for prolonged cornering you'd be prone to blackouts, which at the speeds it's capable of would probably be fatal (when you hit a wall).

I think what would be unlikely though is for someone to build a machine like this in real life and then allow it to be driven at full speed on a course like Nurburgring. I think it's even more unlikely to find a driver capable and willing to do so. Like you said...Darwin Award. The most expensive one ever.

That being said, I'd love to see one try.

👍 on #5, #4, and #3 especially. Hell, I have one (the S.Vettel one so far, all bronze on the challenges :guilty:).

#2. I'd also like to add that it is seemingly indestructible, so ramming does nothing. Strange for a premium car.

#1. I think the car is drivable if it were real. I believe that the car was made in mind to be the fastest possible without killing the human driver. Although whatever "human" it is they were thinking of is beyond me.

Watching my bob annihilate the Dream Car Championship during a money run was hilarious. But it's like watching a freaking Wipeout HD race. The car is unrealistically fast, and doesn't fit in the game. IMHO. Regardless, I love it. It's mental.

about physics, I don't think that tires which can handle x1s performance even exist

They manufacturered tires specifically for the Veyron if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure they could do the same with the X2010. I doubt the tires would be the most expensive or difficult hurdle to getting this thing on a track.

It's people like you that makes me want to avoid online sometimes.
Blocking people on the straights, using people to ram.
As much as I hate the Bugatti Veyron, I wouldn't smash into it in an online race.Clean driving FTW 👍

I think he was being sarcastic because of how it's used online.

Your detection of sarcasm is baffling.

Fun reading, but I can't see it being created - the resulting lawsuits from the inevitable crash of both the car, the company that made it, the people who designed it, etc. would keep lawyers in business till doomsday!

That being said, having never even driven one in the game, I think it'd be amazing fun to watch as a spectator!

Very true, someone whips out an X1 and they can't be trusted to keep it on the road or to drive PROPERLY with it.
The Vettel Challenge helps a lot 👍
I haven't driven it since early January though, hate that thing.

Bob loves it though, but still manages to spin it at Indy 500 within the first 5 laps.

even if tires will be possible, i still think there's too many problems, egxample - too many Gs. don't know how many x1 can produce but average people will lose consciousness with something around 7-8 G I think. even if x1 can not produce that much, endure hi Gs for long is probably hard. maybe with some special suits it is possible.

I bet the design meeting was just Kaz and the Red Bull Team lol clapping.

over 1000 hp lolclap
takes hairpins at over 120 mph lolclap
looks like a fighter plane lolclap
has a giant vacuum cleaner under it lolclap

Maybe it's my age, but it just doesn't impress me, the Veyron impresses me, the X1/X2010 does not

It's the Citroen GT1 Concept all over again, but to the nth degree.

Gsuits only work for verticle g's.

Here's what you do.

Build an X1, then come up with "X1 tracks". The turns are huge, and very banked, allowing verticle g's, and the widness can reduce them.

Delete update and then check how turbine sounds !!! It's way much louder. 👍 After updates 👎

According to wiki, an "untrained" person can handle sustained 17G.

Formula 1 cars pull around/over 5G, and the X2010 can apparently (theoretically) pull 8G.

People who say it can't be built IRL... It can. They built it IRL. Albeit only a proof of concept, but they built it. I don't remember where I read it, but it was a fairly trustworthy source.

See, I'm the exact opposite. At least the X1/X2010 is pure in it's intent (which is ridiculous, granted) but it just aims to be as fast as possible, without any F1-style restrictions.

To me, the Veyron is just a mess. It's not difficult to make something powerful and go fast in a straight line. As a "sports car" though, once you add on ridiculous amounts of weight that kill the handling and then charge $1 million for it, it's just a show boat for rich people. If they had that car down to a svelte 3000 lbs or so, it would only need less than 700hp to maintain the same power/weight ratio (based on their stated 1001 hp output). And it would handle better, get better gas mileage, and have better tire life.

Remember, the Veyron was beat around the Top Gear Test Track by a 263HP Caterham. Sure it won't beat the Veyron in a drag race, but weight makes a huge difference.

Yeah but how long can a person last if they keep pulling 17g turns? Being able to do it for a long time is one thing.

But to keep jumping between low Gs and high Gs is a whole different game. You're practically making the body keep adjusting, and making your heart slow down then pace up.

I think they built a model. ie a body shell that looked pretty.

Again, according to wiki (I can't be bothered to look elsewhere): "several minutes". It doesn't have any sort of chart that shows the other limits. Formula 1 drivers have relatively little trouble at 5G, but I don't know the relationship between 5 and 8G. It could be linear or exponential or anything, I'm no expert. A formula 1 driver probably (almost certainly) couldn't drive it at the limit, but I don't think they'd turn inside out or anything. :sly:

But the Veyron isn't a sports car, it's a GT. If anything it's impressive that something that's as comfortable and cozy as it is at regular speeds can do what it does.

You are right, and a lot of supercars fall into this category, but the Veyron is still VERY fast, even around a circuit (and bear in mind the TGTT is a pretty short, twisty track), whilst being a very comfortable car that can also be driven easily at low speeds. The Supersport is still the second quickest around the TGTT, and the standard is, what, fifth or something? That's very very fast.

This extends to GT also, I find generally the F1 will lap around 1 second quicker than the Veyron somewhere like Trial Mountain, but I doubt many other road cars come close to the Veyron's time.

It's hardly a "mess".

The X1 doesn't have a turbine. V6 twin turbo, the fan on the rear is there to produce downforce.

And yes, it could be built. The Brabham BT-46B and the Chaparrall 2J fan cars were both banned because of how insanely quick they were. It may not be capable of doing sub 4min laps of Nurby Nordy IRL though.

Only hurdles I'd see would be building strong enough tyres, investment, managing G-loads and a finding a driver with big enough testicles to actually drive it:nervous:

If we turn inside out, I hope this horrid machine never gets built.

That's what I mean though by it being a mess. You don't need a GT that burns through a set of tires and tank of fuel in 10 minutes. It's just tries to be too much at once, and I don't think it doesn't any of it well, other than being very expensive and going very fast in a straight line. Neither of which are difficult or impressive to me. If I have a GT car I'd hope it could be used for touring :)

It's definitely fast, and the longer and straighter the track the faster it is. And by mess, I just mean unfocused. Their last attempt at a supercar (Bugatti EB110) was a much more focused effort I thought (although maybe poorly executed). I realize much of Bugatti's historical background lies in luxury touring cars like the Type 57. In this light, the Veyron makes sense. I don't equate touring cars with sports cars though, no matter how much power their massive engines can produce.

That's just me though.:)

Oh I think it's an insanely silly car as well, I'm just saying from an engineering standpoint it's impressive. That car is (apparently) insanely comfortable, quite and composed even at go-directly-to-jail speeds. That's pretty cool.

I'm assuming at normal highway speeds you get relatively normal treadwear, for performance tires that is.

Anyway, back to the X2010.

PD should make an event to match online player with X2010 and race between each other, should separate the men from the boys, since probably about 1% of the people who have and use the x2010 earned and know how to properly drive.
