Just out of curousity I ran a couple of identical combo's in both the games.
1 low powered stock car (RX7) on S1
1 stock GTR-R R35 on R1

Both on Grand Valley

And for the ultmate test:the last WRS with the Miuara on S2

I was very suprised with the differences between the laptimes ,there's so much more grip with the tires in GT6.
2.5 seconds with the RX7
2 seconds with the GT-R
1.8 seconds with the Miura.
I was just wondering if anyone else noticed the differences between both games?

I prefer the tyre simulation in GT6, thanks to their Yokohama data. The Sport Tyres are suppose to be semi-slick track day tyres, and quite frankly, they didn't really feel that "slicky" in GT5. Sports Hard tyres now finally have the grip they need. The Comfort tyres, also, now feel like road tyres. I love braking the rear end loose this time around.Unfortunately, we can't change tyre width in GT6, so that's still off the table. The new suspension model is awesome, too. I love the body roll and how weight naturally transfers under load.

Driving seems easier this time around, not because it is simplified, but because the vehicles communicate with you a lot more, in a more natural manner. This is why I prefer GT6.

It's difficult to describe, but 6 feels like a more complete physics model than 5, despite a few flaws here and there that'll likely be tweaked. The cars feel more "alive".

I've noticed that tires in GT6 have a lot more grip than their equivalents in GT5. Tsukuba lap times are 2 seconds faster for most of the cars I've driven.

The grip is higher on the tyres, but the cars always come with better tyres than the real deal. Comfort Hards are what you should use for most road cars to be realistic, Sports hards are semi-slicks and they didn't really act like semi-slicks in GT5.

Also the comfort tyres in GT5 were really... strange? The ones in GT6 feel a bit more realistic, but each car comes as standard with at worst Comfort Softs, which are far more grippy than what the real cars would use.
