Can you believe it?

I couldn't. I was looking at my stats the other day for some reason and realized that this month (February doesn't start till tomorrow) marks the 5th anniversary of Danoff at GTP. The actual event was on the 6th, so it only took me 25 days to realize it.

In that 5 years a lot has happened. I finished my Master's Degree, moved to California, the wife got her law degree, and we bought a house. My sister graduated high school and is finishing college. My alama mater won the NCAA Football national championship. My favorite NFL team won the Superbowl. I've moved 3 times, changed jobs once and survived some nasty layoffs. And, of course, above all, I've argued about politics and religion on GTPlanet, I was even on a championship Mass Debating Team.

It's been a good 5 years here. I feel like I've made a few friends, altered a few people's perceptions, and learned a lot about myself in the process.

Here's to 5 more. :cheers:

And I thought my approaching three years was nice.

Here's hoping you hang around for another five. You'e definitely made this place interesting, especially the Opinions Forum.

I've always thought your 'status' as "GTP's Most Opinionated Member" (2006 and 2007 :lol: ) was roundly undeserved... perhaps "Most Capable of Expressing and Defending Their Opinion" is a more fitting/realistic name for what you really are... a complete mass-debater, if ever there was one! :D

Not quite as much money in that as you might think. She's in intellectual property (patents, trademarks, copyright).

The power of logic for 5 years, in short ;)

5 years is along time, but I am going on 4 now, so yeah, I'm in a similar boat. I just don't have the same infamy of mass-debating that you do.

To many more years of polite and civil debates!
