$50000 Challenge

think I Fcuked up I was still working on the 50,000 challange D'oh

Ok is this how it works??? Buy a car deduct 75 percent of its value. If what remains is less than the 20,003 credit budget you can use it. You can then spend whats left of the budget on go faster goodies :D
 
well after examining the options there only seems to be four or five cars worth developing for this challenge...each has its own flaws (usually a stupidly long 6th gear).

Currently running over 315Km/h V-max :D , mid 12's for 0-400 :) and low 46's for the auto-x :(
 
V max = Maximum Velocity = top speed :banghead:
 
Narrowed this down to 2 possible cars now....both seem to stand way above the rest in terms of top speed

Conversion from km/h to mph divide by 1.609
 
Ok...after reading thru this a few times, i think i understand how this is supposed to go. I just need to know, for the autocross, you have to roll up to the pole position grid, stop completly, launch from there, do your lap, then come back and stop again if youre gonna do another lap?
 
Man and I thought I might have gotten away with this one, and you show up IDAFC :lol: well a challenge is a challenge :D
 
haha, dont worry...i dont know how much im gonna commit myself to this...its just that im pretty bored right now and need somthing to do to get my frustration off the weekly race. haha
 
Yeah I took a little vacation from the series, I had to. I might have a time for this week or possibly next week :D
 
I think I'll give this a few tries.

Let me get one thing straight, first. The car I select can cost more than $20,003 as long as the resale value (25% of original price) is below the $20k limit?

For example, a $40,000 car would be eligible, since 25% of $40k is $10,000.
 
Nevermind, I just read your post on the 2nd page, clarifying the rules.
 
I'm a newb to these forums but this thread was enough to entice me to join. I like the idea of a new and different challenge for myself in GT3.

I just worked on my first car and got these numbers:
Top speed: 179.7 <-- rev limiter in 6th :irked:
400m: 13.4xx
Laguna Seca: 47.951

I think with a little work on a few different cars I should be able to come up with some better numbers. I think what's killing me is my affinity for high revving, low torque numbers. They're generally easier to drive in that you're able to get on the gas a little earlier coming out of the turns and keep the car planted, but they're not so great in out right acceleration.

Ok, enough rambling. Time to go work on some more cars.
 
Well my times are standing here, I know I have no chance with the top speed since it has been beat. Just a question though, this will determine if I will try it or not, but can you say for two tests use and take off parts and use a different part?
