The ram artists don't seem to bother with lower power stuff on pro physics. I've just had an hour of some pretty intense cat and mouse battles with decent drivers. Mistakes are harder to round but this just adds to the thrill of hunting someone down albeit very slowly!

Actually forget that sentiment frp275 just tried to put me in the wall on the run to line......but he still lost.

I actually prefer the lower PP races for the very reason that it seems to be more "competitive". And PP500 is great for me, my MINI Cooper fits perfectly. Had a few nice battles with a Teg last night.

Mini Cooper is quite decent to drive. Other choices can be the Alfa 147, Swift and Citoren C4 if you like to up-tune your car.

I have been having fun in the 600pp suzuka race. There does not seem to be one car dominating yet. I have won in the cappuccino tuned, opera 350 and NSX R. I only had one race where someone spun me, however I dont get spun that much at all in the pro races in the JPN game anyway.

I agree lower pp races are fun :)

My experience with PP500s yesterday was very hit & miss.

HSR: some Integra racers are going flatout into turn 2, and get either no penalty or not enough drop in speed. They are also wall riding the last turn. Losing to those cheats was not enjoyable so I just stopped and returned later. In one race I was the only racer braking into turn 2 and getting badly rammed because of it ! Unbelievable.

Once the idiots and children were in bed it was better but general behaviour was bad. I was doing very well against the 'clean' racers and only lost once to a clean Integra racer, forgot his name but he drove perfectly all 3 laps good kudos to him/her.

PD: Do something about the penalty system at HSR !!!!!!

Suzuka: seems a lot of people cannot drive here. I gave up counting the number of people ending up in the kitty litter especially at turn 1, so overtaking became easier..and then I made a few mistakes. The other issue I had was that some racers were ramming badly at the final chicane, but overall Suzuka was good. I guess the higher skill level required kept the wall hugging numpties away.

Daytona: I just did not bother.

So, PP500 can be fun but be prepared for the antics going on.

i agree. i went off quite a few times in suzuka tonight. it sucked. can't wait for my wheel to come. i still have 7 days to wait, if that.

I had a great race at HSR this morning, I don't normally race there because I don't really find it much fun as a circuit, but nobody was racing at Suzuka so I was left with HSR. I was in a Mini Cooper S and there were two other racers, one of whom was a Spanish guy in another Mini. Battled the whole 5 laps with him, with only occasional light contact, no barging, no blocking or anything.

I agree that a lot of people seem to struggle at Suzuka. I was in a few races with a GTP racer in an Integra today. I was driving an Alfa 147 and they didn't even get close. Had another great race with a different Spanish racer at Suzuka too. He never got passed but was putting loads of pressure on me. He added me as a friend after the race too.

I had the completely different experience there yesterday. In the afternoon I had around 6 very clean races there. Only got only Little push in 18 laps.

And early evening I had the same numbers of races almost as clean. There were the occasional rammer, but quickly lost them, when I waited to join the next race. (also met a lot of GTP'ers :D)

So with a little luck the racing can be extremely good at Suzuka 500PP. 👍

My faith has been restored a little. I just finished a session. In one race I got rammed as I was being overtaken for the lead and the 'rammer' then slowed until I overtook him. I was so surprised and impressed by the gentlemanly behaviour that I slammed on the brakes just before the finish line to give him the win. This online racing is so hit & miss going from one extreme to the other.

I had a little one on one with someone at 500pp yesterday. It was really good fun and very competitive. I got bored with 700pp yesterday with getting knocked off the track every corner i went into :grumpy:

I had some good races on suzuka 500pp in the mazda atenza, had never seen that car online and it went suprisingly well. I could do similar times in that as with the integra. Took it to 600pp races after that and kept getting smacked off... Dont think they liked having a fronty in front of them haha

Suzuka is a very unforgiving course. I love it though, requires max concentration. Shoot I find myself in the kitty litter more often than I'd like to admit. (mostly the 4th gear corner after the S's) I was having a few good races with about 3 other guys, it was pretty cool. My only problem It seems the rooms are fairly light in the 600pp, I figure most of them are doing the 750pp. I only drive the pro races though, I'm not sure how they are on the standard physics.

We actually are having the best races since the game came out in Suzuka 500 pp.

We are almost every evening there with some friends from a french board & normally driving the same car at 500pp... Even when you start 12th you have a chance to win & a good race against other all race long :)

i dont like slow cars ;i like to just tear it up in my s2000 in 750pp. But the punters are the only downfall of it all :(

I've enjoyed a cople of races at Suzuka 500PP, the only bad thing about it is that there's not a lot of racers in those events so I've had a couple of races where there was only like the same four racers for several races in a row.

I don't like Suzuka 500 PP because the cars are too slow, I prefer Suzuka 700 PP. With the standard mode it's like an arcade game and it's very funny :). Of course, I like a lot also Suzuka 750 PP, which is very difficult but very enjoyable.
P.S. Anyone can add me in his friend list of PSN :). Thank you.

I am having the time of my life with Suzuka 500pp Pro.

Big shout out to greyghost2 and GTP_F1P1! 👍

I'll be back out at Suzuka around 6pm (PST), if anyone wants a challenge. :sly:

I may finally jump into the Integra Type R, since it seems to be one of the most competitive cars for the class. Although, you're bound to see a little dark grey Citroen C4 out there as well.

;)

why is the citroen so fast in that race ? i could barely touch you yesterday with the Type R!! grrrr!!!

While I've not driven the C4, I have the Integra Type-R and can say that while it is fast up in a straight line it can't handle corners as well as the mini or golf, it is slow as death in low revs (if you tune it you loose the mid and high end that it doe so well) and that combined with poor cornering (respectively to the other options for PP500, the Tpye-R handles well just nothng like the Mini or golf) it will be slow at Suzuka.

That being said it makes for interesting racing at Suzuka. I can pull away from Typ-Rs in my mini or golf, usually gain at least .5-7secs in the Ss, but usually in the longer straights at the end of the track the Type-R will catch me, or pull back some of what I gained in the Ss. I've tried a few setups with the mini and it just doesn't have the HP to compete in a straight line. Still, good racing though.

However at HSR and Daytona in PP500 the Type-R is almost untouchable...

Just a little tweak to the suspension and gears. Nothing radical. i just know the course well.

I may give the Type R a go tonight though. Seems to be quite the performer in the right hands.

;)

IMO, no it is not (except in the hand of cheaters who wall ride turn 2).

I have had only 1 Integra racer beat me fairly (I am using a Lion's Den Alfa), and that was a good close race, the Alfa is so much better in the turns v Integra straight line speed...but then maybe that is more a statement about a lot of Integra drivers ;) as I am no racing god.

C4 - good idea, I think I will try that. Thanks.

Had a few good races with Ridium and Jase off of here. In the last race i did, poor Jase got knocked off the road twice on the first lap :yuck: and he just pipped me at the end, due to my late braking :dunce:

It does depend on the driver remember. There are some very quick drivers out there and not all of them use the Integra.

Spending most of my time on Suzuka in 600PP - tried 500PP but not many races out there.

Tried one 750PP race which was total insanity: 15 racers spinning off the course everywhere[/I,], wild ramming & bumping & terrible lag & "jitter" problems: is this because the network can't handle that many online racers?

I've tried HSR a few times, but it seems a bit pointless: too many wall riders, & it seems to be faster to wall-ride. PD should have made gravel run-out areas for the Ring instead of barriers, otherwise it's just a bit pointless. For the same reason, I haven't even bothered with Daytona.

A bit OT, I know, but I'm just so disapointed Daytona Road has almost disappeared from online! There's just one race left there and it's on standard mode! I know from personal experience that not many people visited the previous Daytona Road events but for a game with not that many tracks it just puzzles me they should ditch one of the best real tracks of the game!
This last online update sure brought some nice stuff - P500 and F2007 races, for eg. - but why reduce the number of tracks you can actually race? Should PD just go for the more popular events and forget those of us that don't race Daytona oval and HSR and are getting a little tired of always racing Suzuka?

Since the update I'm always on Suzuka 500, 600 or 750. Nothing else is fun really. Fuji... blarg! Hope they bring back Daytona Road, a proper endurance track.

I am starting to get a little bored with Suzuka. I love the track, but I seem to spend all my time at Suzuka 500pp, 600pp, and 750pp. I'm not a huge fran of HSR, and Daytona Oval is mindnumbingly boring. I really miss Fuji. Some 500pp and 600pp Pro physics races there would be fantastic.

;)

Same here. I've been doing a few turns on Daytona Road. Only standard physics though, but a nice change.
