If it's all you need, then why even argue.

Your really not contributing at all, you know it?

You've accomplished nothing in this thread, good job.

Anyways, I just don't want to chance blowing my PSU on a video card that says 50 more watts and i'd be in the clear :scared:

Depends on the manufacturer and the design of the card really, unless we're comparing a 7800 GT to some extremely low-tech card.

Unless the manufacturer is very crappy, the card has a lot more RAM compared to the one tested, or its massively overclocked I doubt that would make much of a difference.

For posts? I guess he's pulling a TVR. Rob has suggested a great card for the money which is better than the x1600 and at a decent price, yet MachOne won't listen. :\

(Even though the x1600 won't run far cry and other games on high :))

Anyways, contrary to your all-knowing attitude, I AM checking into the 6600, and a 6800GS (but the AGP version uses beta drivers and isn't completely finished yet). I may consider going with the 6600, but it is still a toss-up. My PSU isn't a cheap and rickety one, but I'm just not too fond of going under the reccomended minimum. I'll have a gig of RAM, the 6600GT, my 2.2 GHz CPU and a 160GB hard drive running on just my 300W. I'm just not really looking forward to chancing my PSU blowing, but I usually don't heed warnings about PSU's anyways. I'm getting picky about it now because I've been doing quite a bit to my rig in the past few months, and don't want it to go down the drain because eMachines cheated me out of a better power supply.

Fair enough. Hey a 350W supply shouldn't be too expensive, no more than $100 i'm sure. :) It'd be a worth investment as I think you're right with a 300W PSU not being enough, especially because the 6600GT feeds off of the PSU.

I know, but the eMachines PSU I am looking at (the only one that I am positive WILL fit in my case) is fairly expensive. I don't want to have to scrounge up even MORE cash for another PSU too. I guess things don't come easy though. I'm thinking of just buying the PSU, RAM and video card. I guess I can wait if it means getting the best and still not frying my system.

Not too expensive, and is warranted by eMachines, whom made my computer. I'm confident in going with them since it's designed for my computer and I know it will fit and work.

No offense, but i dont think you should be modding your PC. Almost 100% PSU are interchangable, and you can get a 500w one for around $50. Just because your PC is a eMachine, doesnt mean it wont accept other PSU. Do some research, and you will find all the right answers.

Im not a complete ingrid. I know this, Robcio. My case is TINY, though. I have tried to fit numerous PSU's in it (just to see what it would be like) and quite a few won't fit. I can't imagine trying to stuff a 500W PSU in the tiny space I have. I KNOW the 350W eMachines will fit.

Alright, I guess i understand. If you want to find the same one for a cheaper price, try ebay ;)
