I was searching through the members page and realized that pages 232-499 (which equals to more than 5000 people) were filled with members with 0 posts, so i am curious, where are all those people, do you have to 'sign up' in order to view the info, on the home page??? if so then that might explain it. anyone got ideas......Jordan???

Well probably the 5340 only counts the people with 0 posts, there are probably another couple thousand with under 10 posts who are inactive, leaving ummmm.....sure 300 sounds good

I have yet to understand why they do that, since you can do almost everything except post without being a registered member.

Indeed. Maybe vB 3.0 will have a system like, when a member registers. If he or she has no posts for a certain amount of time, there account will be deleted? :D

How would you feel if you registered late on night and completely forgot about it for a few weeks, came back and couldn't get on?

You can't see the attachments unless you're registered (happened to me one of the times the server logged me out randomly...) This could explain why so many people join and never post...

Cobraboy's post.;)

I do not understand why some people are so adamant about deleting inactive members. There is nothing to gain by deleting them, I'm sure.

So i guess these people sign-up , just to view a couple of threads/attachments and decide to never come back Who knows :odd:

Deleting members would free up some database space...

Didn't Jordan say It wouldn't help with the GTP slowdowns. Didnt he?
That's correct, there would be no benefits in deleting accounts.

Yeah, because they've never posted much, they won't take up much space on the database...and some people just read through and actually never post on GTPlanet...They like to read the guides and stuff.
