600PP Italian Non-Racing Car Super Lap: Ascari Full Track [OLD]

FINALLY!! Here's a DS3 tune for everybody:

Lamborghini Aventador
Suspension = stock
Racing brakes = 4/3
Transmission = full custom set at 180 with no other changes
Diff = stock
Triple clutch
Carbon driveshaft
Center diff upgrade but unchanged
No power changes
Weight reduction 3
Carbon Hood
Window weight reduction
28kg added at -50

Mine ended up 600pp@690hp 1288kg@45/55 distribution

TCS = 5
ABS = 1
Controller steering sensitiviy = 3

Car is actually pretty balanced for a modern Lambo. I'm sure you could do the suspension and the diff to make it much better, but it got gold with a 2:14.517 and I'M OUT!

I see the FXX is the car to use here, but I'm determined to give it a shot with my 430 Scuderia.

The tune I'm using is one I made, I think, so it's really bad. :)

I dropped the custom racing suspension for the GT6 default Hard Racing Suspension. I got a 2:16.242, which is good for silver but 1.242 seconds shy of gold. Gah. The car drives like ass, too—both understeering and oversteering.

I was pretty surprised to see that, near as I can tell, none of the big GTP tuners have a tune for this car at any PP.

I may have the break down and use the FXX, which really should not be eligible for this event, given that it's not street-legal.

Maybe I'll try the Zonda C12S 7.3 or the Huayra if I give up on the 430 Scuderia. Granted, those cars aren't exactly easy to drive either, but I think they're faster even with me behind the wheel.

EDIT: Scratch that, @shaunm80 did do a 550 PP tune for the 430 Scuderia back in November! (I can't find stuff to save my life when I'm downstairs on my tablet instead of on my PC.) I'm going to give a tweaked version of that a shot.

EDIT2: Well, that didn't work. Still no improvement to my time. Also, the Huayra sucks. Detuned like crazy, it still wants to do burnouts.

Speaking of which, I'm burned out on this event! I'll have to try it again later. Maybe with the damned FXX.

A couple of people from my thread have already achieved gold with the tune below (with SH tyres to meet the regs obviously). It can be a little slippery on certain parts of the track but that is to be expected with this amount of power.

the tune you're referring to is a 666 pp tune
what to do to get it towards a 600 pp tune ?

Well done! I used the @Ridox2JZGTE Replica Garage Lamborghini Aventador tune (lowered weight for the event), but I think I would have gotten a better time with one of his Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera replica tunes or even one of his Lamborghini Diablo replica tunes. Even with the Aventador put on a diet it's still a bit of a heavy drive and this track is better suited for a more nimble car.

Thanks :)

Yeah, as much as i love the Aventerdor, for a track such as Ascari, the Aventerdor is a bit of a heffalump. The Gallardo's shorter wheel base and 4wd system makes it easier to drive, as you can carry abit more speed into the turns and it's very chuckable.

I tried the the Zonda C12S 7.3, first with the Soft Racing Suspension, then with the Hard Racing Suspension, and finally with the Hard Racing Suspension and Strong Active Steering. I did better than I did in the 430 Scuderia, but still not good enough to get gold. I think I'm 0.75 seconds off the pace.

Gah. :(

This track would be fun to drive around in real life but it's a pain in the ass to set fast laps on. Especially in 600 PP street cars.

Yah, I'm with you man! I suppose I'm supposed to embrace the challenge, but when they change the physics from EVERY OTHER TRACK MY GALLARDO has been on, it pegs the frustration meter. My dog hears the Logitech wheel centering and GT6 music, and she runs from the room 'cuz Dad's gonna be MAD in short order.

LOL. Poor Dog.

I must be a horrible driver... :( I tried my Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640 Chrome and was only able to achieve Bronze (2:25). So, I purchased a FXX and tuned it as indicated earlier and could not get past the 3rd last turn as I kept sliding off the track (waste of 2M+). So, I searched for a tune for my LP 640 and I was only able to shave 3 seconds off my original time (2:22). UGH... I only can seem to get silver on the new 500pp time trial and only bronze on this one. :(

UPDATE: I tried my Aventador LP 700-4 '11 and I was able to get my time down to 2:19 but nothing quicker. The car seemed to start sliding more and more after achieving this time. Corners I took at a certain speed I could no longer hold. *SIGH*... Done for the day.. Maybe another day but I'm not optimistic with these challenges.. :(

Tried using the Ferrari 458 Italia on here, can probably get gold if my lines and braking were better. Best I could do was 2:17 silver. Will try FXX next.

I can do a little over 2:09 with the FXX. This is a good tune,

I agree with SVPSkins, the Gallardo is the car for me on this track as well. Tried the other popular cars for this event, with excellent Exeter tunes, but got no better than silver. I still couldn't gold this with the stock Gallardo, but with the tune from Bowie Muscle, this car feels made for this event.

Don't say that! This is a difficult event. I don't know what your feelings are about using driving aids, but you could always try using Traction Control or that steering aid thing. Personally, I would rather miss Gold and stay true to my driving without aids, but I would never force someone else to do what I do. Also, if I may offer a suggestion about your driving...Take whichever car you've felt most confident with (I know you're not happy with any of them, but pick one that you think gives you the best odds of getting gold). Now, go out there and do 5 or 10 laps driving 100% in control. Don't even look at your lap time until you finish the lap. Hit the brakes early and don't push it around the sweeping turns. You'll probably be surprised at your time, meaning that it won't even be that much higher than your "all out racing time".

When you're out of control you're actually throwing away all sorts of time here and there because of mistakes. But, if you take a nice leisurely drive just to get the rhythm of the track down, you'll soon start carrying more and more speed through the corners naturally. After 7 or so laps, pick a couple of spots where you try to drop the hammer and give it your all. Then back off and make sure you're still in control. Then punch it again in a different section and so on. You might need to spend 30-40 minutes practicing like this, but hopefully it will help.

This IS a difficult event because we're all using very powerful cars paired with a more realistic level of grip from our tires. Usually they would allow us SS tires on an event like this, but SH is all we need. We just have to keep the car under control. I found it quite frustrating as well...so, don't think that you're the only one.

Good luck!! 👍

This was frustrating.
Finally managed gold with a Ferrari 458.
I couldn't keep the FXX on track,amost every lap was red.
I don't think i'm gonna try this again ,not even with the new Murcielago tune a couple post above this one.

I see a lot of players have problems to get gold here.

Got over 10 seconds under the gold time with the FXX and the Murcielago LP 670-4
SuperVeloce '09 with DS3 and ABS: 1 only.
The FXX is defenetly nothing for the average driver, but the Lambo should be a
easy gold for everybody.

Currently holding the 46th Spot with a 2.06.759 with the FXX (using my own setup, wich is still in progress atm)-did a couple of laps below 2.06 so far(but was dsq ,the reason being the first ****ing corner, taking one tyre/tire too "far" into the grass)
tc1,Strong,abs1. using a stick :)

Would it upset you frightfully to share your tune for the FXX, even if it is still a work in progress?
I'm not aiming for a 2:06,xxx time (but I would take it if I could which I can't), but I'm stuck at 2:10,695 and all I would like to do is beat 2:10.
Maybe your setup could do the trick?
THANKS!

This is a REALLY GOOD SetUp, would never have thought that I could beat my own FXX time with the Superveloce by 0,614 seconds!
Got # 1000 in the world and while writing this dropped to # 1001, and if I wasn't so tired driving the FXX, I would try to soldier on and break 2:10 (currently 2:10,081), but Ascari sucks too much to go on tonight, maybe tomorrow!?
However... MANY THANKS FOR THAT GREAT TUNE!!!

I am trying to hard that is the problem, and it time to have a few days of from this TT, because we have got a few more weeks of this.
