I eventually gave up & went back to doing seasonals in wacky cars. I joined 7 shuffle races last night & couldn't find 1 clean race!? In 1 I got kicked before even being allowed to start. (Wrong flag?) In another there were 2 UK guys who worked as a team to take people out. The rest were just demolitition derby's despite being supposedly 'clean' shuffle races.

When you can make 504k credits in 3+ minutes in seasonals, wtf do people behave like they do for piddly amounts online? Is coming first that big a deal? Are their d1cks that small? To those of you that this applies to, try having a clean race sometime. It's actually fun. And rewarding. Stop hiding your poor driving skills with idiotic behaviour on the track. You're just spoiling what could be a great experience for others. You suck.

Rant over.

(And yes, I know there's a thread: "The worst you've dealt with online.")

I know it can be a hassle to find a Clean Racing lobby. Heck even I run some occasionally. Clean and fair rooms are the way to go. 👍

Just do free runs then. I literally never ever race in public now on GT5, just with members of this forum. Now I just do free runs and that's it. :indiff:

Must be you. I actually rarely have trouble finding clean races. Use the search function, set SRF to Off and Race for Real, then you should find some decent ones.

Thanks for the advice. :)

Fortunatly I'm pretty fast on the single lap, so often I start in pole position and avoid the mess they create at the first corner, but you are right, some people really can't drive clean. Anyway as someone else stated, turn off SRF and look for streetcars or PP limited room, they are usually good ;)

This is also my answer. Yes, sometimes, if you're lucky you can stumble upon clean rooms. But most of the time it's useless. From time to time, I'll go out there and spectate and it usually only serves to reinforce my opinion. Rarely do I find truly clean lobbies where drivers obey common sense rules and respect both each other and the track and it's boundaries. But I have not actually joined a public lobby race (in any racing game) in more than 9 months. I race only in private lobbies with people on my friend list or in organized events.

No, it's not just him.

I am pretty fast as well but the race is a different story for me. I just seem to worry to much about hitting someone else.

I'm sorry but in shuffle race, if you're fast or not doesnt matter for the first corner. if you have dirty people with you, you're gonna get hit because car performance is so close that you wont be able to pull away in one straight.

Thanks C-ZETA. 👍 I'll check it out.

They do it simply to wind other people up.

And you just bit. :banghead:

It 'could' be because your lagging?

I kick people if they lag on my screen as there spoil it for others.......

I tend to stick to Road Cars 500pp and all aids off and normally the rooms I find are pretty good.

Once I find a decent room with a enforcer host (warns people to race fair/kicks trouble makers etc) I add them, that way you'll normally always be able to find good rooms with strong host's, if not host your own and freely kick :)

You should just host your own rooms then and kick anyone who refuses to drive clean. There are many racers looking for other clean drivers and so they are out there.

If I'm host a race and someone is acting like an idiot (picking the wrong car, taking shortcuts, driving backwards, etc) I WILL boot them even if I have to back out of a race. I usually give fair warning but if they don't oblige they are given the door prize.

you know Online racing is horrible when a "clean racer" host, kicks you out for driving clean and winning.

Hope Kaz updates online rules, penalties, the whole experience.

Make sure you join a room that has damage on that soon stops people smahing into you.

Yeah, that's not good. That's just poor sportsmanship.

Unfortunately, it doesn't stop it. Some people are still compelled to wreck you.

Until they fix the damage settings, it not only effects the car that hit rammed you, but your car too. They really should add better enforcements to the physics.
Just my thought on this.
Bump someone at approximately the same speed ok (minor visual damage), hit at 10mph faster than the car in front (lack of steering or loss of power for the aggressor). In all cases the victim should only suffer visual damage.

And finally, for those that do it either intentionally or because they don't know how to drive...hit someone over 20mph, his car is dead and forced to the side of the track/road with no exit menu available until the end of the race. It could also apply to hitting the walls.
I think being forced to sit at the side of the road without any options of exiting or watching other than what they can see from the interior of their car would be boring enough to keep things clean.

If anyone ever does want clean racing (with misleading lobby titles) then add me. I race NASCAR, RallyCross, LMP, F1, FGT, classic cars, all sorts.

The reason the titles are misleading is because I name them for one discipline (RallyCross usually) and then eventually get bored and do all sort of racing.

Send me a friend request if you want clean, fair racing

Instead of complaining why don't you host your own ??
And to assume that people do this because you think they aren't good enough to beat you , then if you were that good you would pick your moment to make your move . I know of lots of good drivers who do lots of clean races and are also up for dirty shuffles too ( variety is good ). I myself host a lot and am not a bad driver but also host rooms name DIRTY RACING , which are mostly shuffles and it doesn't take long for the lobby to fill, these are also fun, also you don't need to tell people that clean racing is fun , we already know that and online racing is not just for people like you . So dude host your own maybe you would be happier then , somebody else's lobby has nothing to do with you how it's run , if you don't like leave , simple .
And btw anyone in my lobby who starts complaining about how I do things gets a fast ticket out . 👍

Don't give up on it. Although there are plenty of 'punters' online there are also some fast, sporting, gentleman racers out there.

The key to a good online experience in the public lobbies of GT5 is adding any and all clean racers and hosts that you come across to your PSN friend list. You can then use the community tab to find out where they are racing and join lobbiess with racers you already know are clean. Once the clean fast racers are in the majority in a lobby the punters seem to clear off, perhaps as they can only have their fun for the first lap before they are too far behind?

An alternative answer is the racing leagues and events run by GTP members (and other communities), however for these you will need some semblance of predictability in your life so you can be available for the specific events (so it's rarely practical for me).

Thanks will do. To all others, thanks for the comments & advice. I don't host my own 'cos I'm new to it. Level 40 A Spec & 37,5 B-spec, but new to online.

As said before, I search for Race for Real and SRF = Off with good results. If I host, I put Penalty and Damage to high. It's a deterrent. And, I like starting in last... racing all alone in 1st is no fun!

If you new to online racing then it can be frustrating because you really don't know anyone. There are plenty of racers out there that will race cleanly you just need to find and add them to your friends list.

Lately, I've been doing a lot of high speed racing at Daytona in Viper/Vette/Enzo rooms and have met a lot of good racers. These for the most part have been very clean although you still get the occasional racer who don't want to comply with the rules. If they can't comply then they don't last in the room.

just a couple of days ago i discovered this thing of shuffle races, and im lovin it, mainly because i'm not that good as everyone on tuning cars so in the "gt500-gt300" (my favourite category with dtm) races i always feel like i've a little disadvantage.

It's hard to find shuffle races, i joined one race witha british guy and it was really good, but later 3 more british guys joined and they were a little bit dirty, after this i decided to host my own shuffle race and it was awesome.

I must add my tuppenceworth:

I regularly race in public rooms but only on Nordschleife or Nurburg 24hr tracks; these are where I generally find the best rooms.

Search with SRF off (as others have said) and it does help to search with full rooms on. Wait a bit and somebody usually leaves. just keep joining & you'll get in.

I do the above and it usually gives me a few hours decent racing, and sometimes I get some friends out of it.

Now and again I open my own room, usually CLEAN 600pp ANY CAR, and I get decent racers. In the last 6 times i've opened a room i've only had to kick one person (I felt terrible about it but the room dictates).

In other words: Online GT5 is Brilliant!...if it's used properly.

Good luck!
