^Anything different?

I can't really go online right now because my brother is working on something important on his laptop, and my PS3 is a bandwidth hog.

Not that I've noticed, but I haven't been online much, just to check seasonals and to see if everything was ok.

Wild speculation here, but could it be for smooth implementation of some future DLC/Addons?

I believe DiRT 3 did this, as before the car packs where out you could sometimes see the ghosts driving the DLC cars, even though noone had access to them yet.

If there is no updates it's server side. So it's only seasonal/online racing fixes. Most likely Minor bugs that nobody's gonna notice...

^ I'm not saying it's not leading to another patch but maintenance doesn't mean instant patch. I think they are preparing to shut down Prologue servers and convert them to GT5. Also they may test new features with live and busy servers now. So I think we will have new patch in near future, but not neccesarily right after any maintenance.

It should be noted how this morning the new Maintenance Schedule have been released on the official site with adjusted dates:

Start: 09/08/2011 17:00 GMT
Finish: 09/08/2011 23:00 GMT

So, actual 8-hour maintenance starts on 8th September at 17:00 GMT.

Last one is still being scheduled for 15th Sep.

Also please notice how maintenance does not equal update/patch/DLC. It could be prepping for some of the above or it just could be expansion of servers or final adjustments of all sever-support after worldwide GT servers have been seriously wounded by April earthquake and online services moved from Tokyo to Fokuoka in past few months.

So last night maintenance was unscheduled? cmiiw

And just when people thought pd were against its users/customers by taking their money and running...

I am surprised there isn't any talk of the Tokyo Game Show next week. I would think (speculate) that if PD is going to announce/release anything big, they are going to do it at a major international venue like TGS.

I mean, the 10 hours of maintenance on September 15th is during the Tokyo Game Show...
This is all rumor and speculation on my behalf, but seriously, it's worth consideration.

PSN can go down for a month for all I care, as long as a promised return with GT5 DLC is confirmed.

It was for everyone, the US servers were down yesterday, and are since back up and running.
