Stupid internet, stupid GT5, stupid anything that contributed to my lack of staying power in the lobby tonight. I was really looking forward to it aswell, and actually noticed that my soft and medium tire times in practice WERE going to be super competitive.

Messed up my pit stops twice because I selected the wrong tires. Really sucks because I know I could have had a podium finish. Sorry I blew for Team Mclaren Storm. :indiff:

good race, congrats to the winners. Nothing like a 50 lap race to learn a car, got down to 1:19 for lap time and learned a lot about the Zonda. Have a lot of things to try out in testing.

Good series seth 👍

Results are up on the 2nd post on page 1. You can view them HERE

Good race today guys. I had no tire life which costed me the race. I was fast on Medium tires as well. What are the updated points standings?

Yeah I would like to know why I got 15 points. I don't want to rush you though, Seth.

I'm trying to find a nice way of laying them out. If anyone wants to help it'd be great. I'm not good with spreadsheets online.

Because the points are based on class. You placed 4th in class which gave you 15 points.

Points standings and success ballast information is now up in the Opening Posts.

Dude, no worries.

Oh, I'm surprised the best time was only a 1:17. I was hitting high 16's on softs and low 18's on meds, both with full tank, in practice.

offline times are always faster than online times

Not true. Unless you change the "always" part. Its a general rule of thumb, but it isn't 100%.

There's been times where I've been faster online than offline. I've been faster online at Madrid, Monaco, and Fuji... and yes, under the same conditions and same car in each. A lot of the time I'm just as fast or off-pace by a couple tenths at most, not really by a whole second or two... unless there's something seriously odd about the lobby.

I did think someone might've hit the 1:16's mark at some point, though, what with fuel depletion and soft tyre stints.

yeah thats a good point, there have been some times when I am faster online than I was in offline practice too.

if I remember correctly the pole lap was in the 1:16s

I did a 1:16.7 or 1:16.8 for the pole. I could have went way faster, but no one else was even getting close. Plus everyone kept asking questions so I only did about 4 hot laps. I still had about a full tank. FWIW, I did a 1:16.7 on my first lap out in practice. Besides, the only other guy that was near breaking my times would be Jake, and he was starting on mediums, so he qualified on them. Instead of focusing on how fast you can go, Storm, maybe you can show up and have your connection stable so you can show your pace.

As for fast laps during the race, there was no reason to go all out when you're using a strategy to go a certain amount of laps. So I tried for 9 laps on softs, and got it. Then the last two stints on mediums I went 10 laps on one set, and then 11 or 12 on the next.

That brings me to my next point. I'm going to start taking people off the list if they are no-shows. If you miss 2 races you'll lose your reserved spot. So if someone else is wanting to use your car they will be given the go ahead and you will have to start making more races.

That was my intention Seth, unfortunately my connection had other ideas. If it happens next week aswell then take me off the series completely, because chances are if it happens twice in a row its going to happen all season through; not fun.

Expect 1:36's for Daytona Road Course to get you up there in qualifying GT1 guys. GTS I think may be just as fast if they can keep from going too far down in the in course.

UPDATED information on POST 3 for more detail about the tire ruling for round 2. And added to POST 2 to figure out who the winner of each class was.

I was wondering if ballast accumulates, for example: if you get the win in round 2 would you then have +50kg for rd. 3 or would it stay at +25kg?

Accumulates like you said, until I don't podium finish.

ok, so theoretically you could end up at +200kg?

So, will we be expecting 1:36's if the medium compound is prime?

I was running 1.36 with soft. I expect high 1.27 maybe better with mediums.

How is this possible? I'm in the low 42's with softs. I'm starting to think that the viper isn't equal to the others.

I was running 1.36 on softs with the viper. Might I suggest an oil change/engine rebuild/chassis rebuild. Add me cnd01 and we can test and figure it out.

Was this in your own lobby or single player time trail?

The GTS cars have a lot of power, there's no reason they should be slower than 1:38. Even the Viper. It's the best handling one of the bunch IMO.

I'll give you a tune next time you're online. Hopefully it'll get rid of the understeer you have and you will be able to set better times.
