911 RSR tune?

Last night a mate and myself were on Dragon Trail, and two people join in 911 RSR's.
We knew from earlier racing that the Beetles were faster than them, we both knew the track well too, so thought it was going to be great to thrash the pair of them!
From the very start they were straight past us like a pair of stabbed rats!
I got into 2nd coming out of the 2nd corner with a nice gap the one of the RSR's in 3rd.
On the straight between that corner and the first chicane he not only made up the gap, but sailed past me too!
WTF?!
Those things were literally flying compared to us, and we weren't hanging around.
One of them got a 1:38 and they weren't the best of laps due to having to battle with us, so I'm sure they could have gone quicker.

So now we had a bench mark, afterwards we both got RSR's. No matter what, we couldn't get under 1:42 with perfect laps.
How on earth were they getting 4 seconds off?
We started to fiddle with settings, mainly gear ratios, based on how quick they got away from us off the line.
Nothing made any noticeable difference, it didn't matter what we changed!
The absolute best we could both get was 1:41.
We then got a Beetle and RSR together, and nothing we could do could get the RSR to walk past the Beetle like they were doing.
What on earth had they changed? We spent a couple of hours trying to work it out and got nowhere.

Max out on the HP and weight reductions and you'll see marked improvements on performance.
 
First thing to note is that the 911 RSR is an LM GTE car (basically a GT2 class car in Le Mans), and that the Beetle Gr.3 is tuned to mimic GT3 specifications. GT3 cars are faster than their GT2 counterparts. In its default state, the RSR would never keep up with the likes of GT3 cars and the fictional Gr.3 cars in terms of speed (unless the BoP takes charge).

Your solution is to modify both the power and weight. Increase the power close to GT3 specs (550 - 600) and you'll see a significant change. ;)

Trust you me he IS quick to say the least... I've been lucky enough to be in the same race as him a few times now. Fast, clean and smooth as silk. I'm in the 1:58's pretty consistently now and still getting embarrassed!!! It's good incentive to try and improve though, seeing what is possible in front of you. :bowdown:

Yea he is quick for sure just not the tune... lmao I'm fast with the right tune. I run a 1:59 with my tune atm. I would like a better time though to maybe run 1:58 or lower!
