When you say that you have silver in the NASCAR series, do you mean that you came in 2nd place in the Championship?

I suspect that you should re-run the NASCAR Series and be sure to win all five races.

You could first check to see if you've won the prize cars, though I think that you can win the prize cars even if you don't win every race in the Series.

A-spec Pontiac Tempest LeMans

Good luck!

By winning 4 out of the 5 races in the nascar championship you will get gold because 400 championship points is enough for the Gold. Golding all events individually is not the same as doing the championship, the event cannot be completed and the prize car rewarded until the championship has been golded.

im gonna go for all golds in licences and do nascar to gold and see what happens

Do NASCAR championship first. Pretty sure that will solve that missing one percent.

I found on here a good piece of advice. Because ASM is locked on and ABS cannot be turned off turning it up to 10 instead renders ASM useless and somehow this makes you go faster. After doing this I completed the final 2 laps of Daytona in the NASCAR Special event after a few attempts. Until now I could NEVER do it. But that worked.

Because ASM slows you down by putting ABS on 10 it somehow counteracts the effects of ASM. Weird I know but it worked.

Let's hope the OP can get that final 1% now!
Much thanks for this!!
I can't gold Daytona, hope it helps.

What year model are you using? If 2011 is the one being used, try the 2010 models. Sounds odd but my Bob could not win with the '11 model. After 10 tries I sold the '11 and right out of the bat the 2010 model one.

I remember A-Spec Daytona was a PITA too  It was line specific if I recall correctly. High side but draft the guys up front as close as possible. Turn the volume up too so that you can hear if you are on the draft or not.

Good Luck...you will get it!

I've now got 100% game completion, I discovered I had skipped a couple races on B-spec that was causing the incompleted state.

You should also check your B-spec line up again and ensure you've passed every race :)

I'm suck on Daytona A-spec ;)
But I will try both years.
Before the ASM-update I managed to do it rather easily.

There is absolutely no difference in performance between two year models. This has been well documented on these forums multiple times.

Drafting is the key to winning this race and IMHO it has almost nothing to do with the car choice, tune or set-up.

Hope you get that gold 👍

I know...
But it's really frustrating to do this event over and over.
And when the AI hits you, you spin and lose. They don't, they just keep driving withouth problems.
Hopefully they patch it again, but I don't thinks that's gonna happen.

So don't let them hit you, and make sure that if they do that they hit you square and you don't get spun. It's not like you can't see the contact coming well in advance as they gain on you. Sure, sometimes there's not much you can do, but if you keep an eye on the map to know when they're coming fast and either dodge or get directly in front of them you should be ok more often than not.

You also have to know what they're likely to do in the corners and leave them room so they don't catch you just right to spin you. A lot of it(and a lot of racing them on any track, it's just more important in this race) is a matter of knowing what they'll do and being prepared to react to it when you see them start to do it. Once you understand them, they're usually quite predictable. It's usually better/safer at Daytona(and at most tracks) to stay to the outside, even though it's tempting to take a shorter line.

I know it's easier said than done and it can take a few attempts to avoid bad luck, but it can be done with a little patience and observation. You only need to lead the last bit, so you want to always err on the side of staying out of trouble until the last couple of laps.

You don't need to gold the license tests to get 100% completion, as Giulietta73, Argon56, UrieHusky and o9lifted said earlier, you only need to bronze them.

Just for fun:), last night I started up a new game and jumped straight into the License tests to see if the game cares between Gold, Silver or Bronze.

I found that the game is giving us 0.4% for every license test passed and it did not matter if the pass was bronze, silver or gold (the percent granted towards completion was the same in all cases).

I did 30 license tests and my game completion is now sitting on 12%, so if you do them all, you will be 24% of the way thru the game. Therefore the rest of the game will grant us 76% if fully completed.

I have not yet figured out what percent the game grants for every race/race series completed, though I started testing this. Perhaps Famine has the answer.💡

Respectfully,

The only reason would be if there are some races left uncompleted, I went through my B-spec list and found 2 races my BOB had come in 4th and 8th for no apparent reason.

After making him do those races I got 100 percent completion. So yeah, it's definitely not licenses or special events ^_^

I was wondering this too. Now all I have to do is the Formula GT B-Spec and 7 A-Spec Endurance Events and I'm 100% done!

Of course, if you want the gold trophy, then you have to gold all the Licenses and Special Events and regular events and stuff. I'm not ready to do that yet. :p

This is been bugging me all day! So i went through ever single race again a and b spec to check if i missed something and i havnt missed a single race or championship, everything golded no 4th place or below in anything. Same in licences all completed to bronze and above.

So im officially lost im thinking a glitch of some sort. Similar to the gt4 100% issue maybe. Either way im stumped and kinda gutted after all these hours of playing.

Me and my mate have been having percentage wars on gt5 for 2 years he has 5 hours 24hr nurburgring to finish and cote d azur fgt to do then will see if he hits 100% he is currently 99%. If he gets 100% ill be gutted!

Did you complete the Nascar Championship as a Championship instead of a set of races?

Did you check to see if you received the prize cars for the Championship wins?

--------------------------
World Compact Championship----Hommell Berlinette R/S Coupe
Clubman Cup-------------------Honda Mugen Motul Civic Si Race

Polyphony Digital Cup-----------Nissan 350Z Gran Turismo 4 Ltd
NASCAR------------------------Pontiac Tempest LeMans GTO
Formula GT World---------------Caterham Fireblade
Dream Car Championship--------Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II

B-spec Championships:
-----------------------
World Compact Championship-----Autobiachi A112 Abarth '79
Clubman Cup Championship-------Toyota Celica TRD Sports M ZZT231
GT World Championship-----------Pagani Zonda R '09
Tuned Car Championship----------Honda AEM S2000

Polyphony Digital Cup-------------Gran Turismo Skyline GTR '01
NASCAR--------------------------Mercury Cougar XR-7 '67
Formula GT-----------------------Suzuki GSX-R/4 Concept
Dream Car Championship----------GT by Citroen Race Car

Checking for the prize cars wouldn't be conclusive since you can win the prize cars without finishing first in every race. You can win the prize car even if you haven't won every race in a Championship Series, if you have the most points at the end of the Championship.

I actually tested this last night as well. I won the prize car even though I came in second in every race in a Championship. I engineered the finishing order by some judicious blocking so that a different car won each race and I always came in second. This gave me enought points to win the Championship, so the game awarded me the prize car. After the races the game shows that I have three silver trophy's and the Championship trophy.:trouble::lol:

I'm not sure what else to suggest....... You could always start a new game!

Good luck!

Miamibass - did you complete any of the game before hooking your PS3 online?

This is a WIDE longshot - so flame at will:

I had reached level 35 when I finally hooked the PS3 up to the internet (18 months ago!) and when it had finally finished updating GT5, when I logged into my GT home a couple of Mercedes cars appeared as prizes for the already completed AMG Academy - they weren't the original prizes on the 1st edition.

Could this be where a possible glitch is?
deliberately vague, but just a thought...

I have seen you guys say that the championships need to be completed as a championship to get completion credit and that doing the races individually will not give any percentage towards completion. However my question is what if I have golded the NASCAR championship for example but on the last race I came in 4th place - does that still give me completion or do I need to at least bronze that 4th place race? And if so, can I bronze that race individually or does it have to be raced as part of the championship to count even though I already won the championship?

I am currently at 95% with all licenses at least silver and just completed an Aspec endurance race which didn't change my percentage so I am assuming I am at 95.5%? I only have the Aspec formula championship, six Aspec endurance races and two Bspec endurance races left so by everything I am seeing on this topic mine should add up to 100% right?

I think you have to gold the championship, as well as recieving a bronze at least for all individual races in that championship.

I think you need to win the championship - that's 1 gold
and I think you need to gold each individual event - only the ones that you didn't gold in the championship.
I won the Nascar championship with a bronze for Daytona, then went back to gold it on it's own.👍

If you have already won the championship then you can go back and selectively re-run the races that you did not get a medal in i.e. you do not need to re-do the whole championship again.

I did that with the NASCAR one, got the championship GOLD but came dead last in the Daytona race then spent the next 20 years trying to win the darn thing (slight exaggeration there but it seemed like that :D )

Me too - was stuck on bronze for months. I tried it again last night just for old time's sake and after a few restarts I won by 0.047 seconds. It was a crazy race!!!

Sorry, off topic:boggled:

Nice to know I'm in good company 👍 I have done that race several times since winning it, like you, and now it seems so easy but it's always a cracking race.

We can go off piste for a post or two :D
