Hi,

First, applogies if this has been covered before, I did do a search before I joined and didn't see anything that matched my situation. If there is, then a link is massively appreciated. I will try to make this as simple as possible.

In the UK. UK PS3. UK GT5. USA PSN account.

I have a USA PSN account because of Rock Band. Stupidly I kept it as my main account. My GT5 save is on this account. All was well. Then came DLC.

I purchased DLC via the US Store. It won't work on my UK disc >_<

So GT5 Spec 2 comes out. I get a US Copy for my US account hoping that from here on in, like Rock Band, I just get content from the US store.

However, this new GT5 install does not seem to recognise my game save and insists on creating a new one.

Question is, can I use this old game save with the new game of another region? If so, how?

Or do I have to A, start GT5 again or B, forget all new content and just lap the nordschleife?

I don't want todo B but i really really don't want to do A >_<

Better something than nothing... Do the nordschiefe. At least you will have some of your cars...
 
Yes, you will have to start again because of the region change. I did the same when first dlc came out but i kept my old disc for a while and sent over most of the important cars from my old gamesave. Its annoying but once you get over the "doing everything again...", its kinda fun. :)
 
Cheers guys. I suppose I do have a decent enough option. Not the one id like but I suppose I just have to deal with it.

I can't believe the issues with this kind of thing tho. No us dlc for a uk disc! Why? The amazing thing here is that the hardware is region free but the Internet service isn't?! Meh, I won't moan too much.

I love the game. The waving goodbye to all gold licenses etc is just painful. Back to the start it is then!
 
try buying a memory stick that can be used for PS3 data, save any data that you do have daily incase of data loss. If You do have problems and you have to start again add me on ps3. My PSN name is evo516. fill free to add me if you need to borrow cars.
 
My game data is all backed up. I do it at least once a week. I haven't had data loss so to speak just screwed by the shambles of region protection. I will add folk on psn regardless but I'm really thankful for the offers of help getting back to where I was.
