I just thought of a great idea!! 💡

This is for anyone who has a controller that has a switch for auto/repeat fire, i don't.

While on the director's monitor screen (or whatever it's called) wrap a rubberband around the control pad so that it's resting on the L1 button.
Then use something to sit on top of the right D-button, a small dice (yes I know it's "die") sounds good or any small object that won't move as much, and rap another rubberband around the control pad to hold the object in place.
All while the autofire is on of course..

Sounds like a good experiment to me.. 👍
if only I had one of those control pads. 👎

But if it works, and since my control pad is FUBAR (no vibration :( ), I may invest in one to keep my playstation alive till PS3!!

I don't want those endurances to kill my 1st Gen PS2!

So who's gonna try it first??.. Any takers? :scared:

You have to press the buttons each time for them to work. Holding the buttons down won't work.

that's what the turbo button is for, it repeatadly pushes the "right" button with the dice and the L1 button, i'm assuming simltaneously.

i'll give it a go, back in 30mins.

It won't work. You will need something pressing the R1 button as well, as it switches back to live view when you pit. So if you had turbo fire on R1, it would keep switching view, and you would not be able to maintain x3 speed.

Also, having d-pad right on autofire may randomly increase your driver's speed, which is probably a bad thing unless it is a track that your driver can handle on push.

I see. I don't have a turbo button.

DAMN.. CRAP!.. DQuan, leizar, you're right.. :(

didn't realize it goes back to the "live" view..

oh well, back to the drawing board..

the only way its gonna be done without cheating is to have a complex egg timer - pushing somthing- hitting somthing else- pushing a thing- pressing the buttton-thingy- thing!..... 💡

seriously unless u have one of those cool Lego computer controlled robot sets i doubt u can get it to work.....

you could hire one of your friends to stay up all night! :sly:

it ALSO wouldnt work unless you have the "x" button autofiring at the pit screen where it asks for tires/fuel/switch from A-B spec. This is of course if you have the right button on the D-pad on turbo.

i actually did that 3x speed with the TV off once, my mom was watching tv and she didnt want me to change it to GT4 and i was about 6 hours into the nurb. So when i actually turned it on i was still at the pit screen and the Grid had caught up on the same lap, but i was still in 1st place!

This would not work even if you had the "x" button on auto fire, if you did that on a long bspec race then when your person would pit the x button would be activate and stop the pit crew from re-fueling your car. You'd run out of gas, slow down to a 50mph crawl and lose the race.

Well, I left my PS2 on for over 20 hours once cause I had to go to bed and then do school before I could get back to my endurance race in GT3. I say just leave it on and check back with it every once in a while to make sure you pit propperly. And if you need to be gone for a while, just pause it and come back to it later. Man I wish they had a timer on the pitting, say like 10 seconds, before it automaticly replenished everything so you don't have to have any involvement at all if you don't want to.

My B-Spec driver can duck into the pits and get new tires and be re-fueled without any input at all from me. Maybe it has something to do with B-Spec skill?

I was so confused by this thread until I read

Did you not realise this? The only downside is that you lose the 3x accelarator after he's pitted, and if your strange die/rubber band/turbo-fire joypad contraption was designed to restore this, surely you had encountered the pit menu and realised this would get ****ed up

i have tried almost all tricks in the book mate!!

tried ur trick... well not the dice - die thingi tho.. rubber man And/Or Celotape... i tried both, the problem is that you have to Press is AGAIN!! which really doesnt work...
also the problem is that the dice wouldnt be that strong, well if i look at it from my view...

the best way i found... (2 races)

#1... The Ring!! that oval motei thingi!

Celotape your X button, press start, goto options... and Press x real hard and apply celotape... this will keep X on hold and press triangle to return and continue...
all you need to do is Turn.. it did work for me and THIS is a tested method!! :sly:

#2, Nurburing 24 Hours - Do some math! {Bspec!}

Read my horrible yet extremely good write up about the 24 hours nurbie... its LONG yet it can help you (Check the writeup section for me!! :dopey: )
everything i wrote is true! lol ... and ALSO!!!! the cars are easy to pass so all you need to do it work out your lapping technique
EG. how many laps before you pit in, usual is 3-4
how long it takes for each lap... my car was 6:30 mins to 7 mins...
and calculate
remember
1 second in real time... is 2 seconds in bspec X3... i worked it out!! lol.. hope it correct tho...

anyway that means 30 mins in real time is an hour in game play, excluding your pit timing... well i guess... this is still techniques, if you WANT to try it.. i never forced you or poked you with a stick :scared:

anyway.. this is just an idea... try it out...
I just bought european... i got japanese long time ago.. 60% and im crying due to the hard hard crappy enduros which never end... or which im not bothered to do

Good luck !!

ALi.

Nice Idea,

But Greyout Said it, U May Aswell Cheat, the games beating itself. your working a way out of cheating , for somethin that is effectivly cheating,

Why pause it? Your PS2 is still on so you may as well let it tun. 1x is always better than 0x!

Yes, there is. There is a 5 sec or so delay but it does automatically replenish everything if you leave the pit stop "unattended".

Or you could just do like me. Get a rubber band and put the end around the right analog stick, then wrap the other end around the right side grip. (Right behind the R1, R2 buttons.) This will also hold down the accelerator, and you don't have to worry about the tape losing it's stickyness.
