I mean the car looks nice, but it's not looking like the first render we had.
The first render looked like a new version of the BMW M1 Race Car, but what we have now
is a M235i in race version.

and here an idea of the real M1 and the last concept made from BMW(the left one)

So thanks PD for the nice car, but the first render was much more sexy in the way the AMG Vision is!

The one on the right looks a funky version of the old 8 series.

I think the BMW VGT looks good, though I admit not quite as good as the original one above.

Other? What does that mean?

a) Didn´t expect more/less/anything.
b) I don`t care.
c) Other

And isn`t it spelled "disappointed"? (Just saying...)

That guy above doesn`t state my opinion about the VGT!!!

I don't want to play smart, but VGT cars are designed by the automakers themselves - thus BMW in this case.

It has nothing to do with the PD, but with the BMW Design Team.

EDIT: And I voted "yes" by mistake.. And no way to change the voting. Well, I be damned :grumpy:

Well I was disappointed too with the looks of BMW VGT in game but at least we have something. Early sketch looks like M6/M1 racecar with some elements of i8 (maybe?) but one in game reminds me very of new some sort of early concept for M2 racecar or modern representation of M3 GTR E36.

So we need somebody who votes "no" by mistake and the world and amar212 can be saved.
Oops, I just voted 'no' by mistake.
another car with very bad sound. lost hopes for better sound in this game, the sound of this BMW is crap, it's more of a car without detailed Panel, very disappointed here.
What I find infuriating is that in the promotional video you get to see in its showroom, it sounds completely different than it does in-game. Anybody noticed that?

I think BMW has an interesting cycle when developing its VGT.
Firstly they modeled an i8 to be a M1 successor, then BMW changed mind and instead modeled
an M4/M235i to be a 2002 Turbo / 3.0 CSL successor. Yeah it looks too "normal" for VGT to be honest.

Yeah PD did their usual sound dubbing on that trailer video. At least they did a better job on it than they did on the Z4 GT3 Goodwood video  I also find it interesting how in the trailer video of the car BMW representatives talk about how honored they feel for "designing a car for GT6". Shouldn't Kaz be the one feeling honored?

I voted yes because while it is a nice looking car I am disappointed it's nowhere near the proportions of the first sketch.

Sorry dude, tried to correct it(as i did in the title!), but don't know how!
But if you want we can try and talk French, Dutch or Spanish and let's see how many mistakes
we make.... cheers!

It's the BMW Turbo concept :D

I think it was two-tone to emphasize crumple zones, which maybe weren't common place back then.

Sorry, I know I've said this already, but it never looked like being an i8 or even mid-engined. Blue kidney grille surrounds are the only common feature with the i8. Since the first spy shots of the two series emerged at the same time, it was clear that the 2-er was going to be the base.

This is kind of an M235i Racing (BMW-motorsports real entry level racing car), but CSL-ified.

but what we have now
is a M235i in race version.

Technically, these are M235i's in race version...

I voted Other.

Although it's odd that we have got a totally different car to the one proposed, I can see myself driving this M2 a lot more than I would've drove the M1.

So I probably should have voted No :dunce:

I really like this car. It looks great, has plenty of power and grips endlessly. The sound is ok, but sadly not great and nothing like the sound in the video.

I was hoping for an M1-Esque racer like in the original drawing, but this car is good enough for me.

It has made me wonder though.
Jordan told BMW VGT will be revealed at Geneva > BMW change plans and it isn't released > long wait until next VGT appears > New car looks nothing like the concept drawing.
Perhaps BMW decided that they didn't want to release the 'M1' and designed a new 2 series based racer instead over the past few months?

I speak Spanish, Portuguese before I learned a bit of English which doesn't stop me from having adequate grammar.
[/Hail grammar]

I'm very happy for you, do you have something to say on the topic, or your just going to be criticising my grammar?

It looks rockin' on the outside, it drives incredibly well, and those decals are amazing. What's not to love about this car? I don't even like BMW's that much! Who cares if it doesn't have an interior? It just takes that much longer for PD to model it anyways so we have to wait longer, which most of you seem to have a problem with.

You want it, you got it, be thankful sheesh~

The livery is nice. Gives me something to put on the M3 racer just added to Forza 5, too. Great month for gaming BMW fans.

I'm not sure why you'd expect an interior in a concept car....

You're unsure on why I expect a certain quality standard to be consistant throughout the game? Well, this is Gran Turismo, so I guess expecting such things are pretty silly. Afterall, we're talking about one of the most incompetent game designers in the history of games...

If you can't actually finish the product, then don't start on it in the first place. The original Mercedes VGT had both a description and a sketch of the interior. There are then no excuses for the car to not have any in the game.

Because... they're an exterior design practice. GT-R Proto doesn't have one either and has existed since GT5P. Hell, if you want a quality standard to be consistent, man you are playing the wrong game, lad.

Sell it.
