Just a quick enquiry. We have a lot of American users, so we have an Offical America Thread to deal with all the news, issues and so on, but would it be worthwhile having an Official Britain Thread?

We have a significant number of British users, but British issues are rarely discussed on the board; they get their own token thread if it's really important. I think it would be a good idea to discuss all that is right, wrong and incomprehensable about Britain and its 'wonderful' system of Government with fellow GTPers. I seldom have the opportunity to even do it in real life, due to the disinterest in politics and current affairs of my friends.

Thoughts?

Unless there is already such a thread and I've missed it totally

Well GTPlanet is an American website. But I guess I wouldn't mind having a Britain Thread to discuss events in Britain.

As you point out, there is an official 'America' thread, so I don't see why there can't be a British one, especially given the large proportion of users from that locale.

How about a China thread for.......erm........me?

Just kidding, I'd use a British thread.

I guess I could use a British thread, but I probably wouldn't post in it much because, I admit, that I'm not really aware of what's happening in my own country :( .

How about a Worldwide / Global thread?

Really? I see UK issues being discussed regularly here in different threads such as the free healthcare one.

I have just created the Official Britain thread. Most of the rules are copied straight from the America thread with a bit of tweaking. Apart from that, it's common sense.

Congratulations on creating the official British Thread. Let's hope that things won't get out of hand.

Thanks, any trouble and the offending post will be reported and the thread locked until it's sorted.

In retrospect this is true, but I feel/felt that British issues were either not discussed or scattered amongst the opinions forum and thought that an official thread would be a useful idea to get it all out in one place.

Thanks MazdaPrice for inspiring me to create the thread, I have had to choose my wording carefully though as you will see if you read the thread.

1788 is when Australia was founded and then Britain sent the Irish(Opps I mean convicts(not all Irish are criminals)).
