A case of "Sucks to post in a thread moved to the test forum"

Yip, if you post in a thread, and it is subsequently moved to the test forum, you lose all the posts that would have previously counted prior to the thread being moved

Well, there are some n00bs who have posted exclusively in "some of those threads" till they reached a few hundred. Now they are back to 'registered users'.

I think that the custom title post count thing has been changed though, i've seen members with likw 70 posts with a custom title and avatar.

And here, I moved the Nitto Thread but they all kept their post counts. Hmmm.. Wonder if I move it around again, if the same thing will happen.

Wouldn't it be a case of "Owns to post in a thread moved from the test forum" if the TCB was moved to a forum that counted posts though...But then there'd the side effect of n00bs swarming and spamming it. So it'd be a stalemate.

From the way things look in the Admin CP, there has been no change in our custom avatar and title requirements. Anyone who is changing their own is doing so in error.

There are members with few posts and custom avatars and custom titles. There are a few in the GT4 forum, toler hasn't been here that long and he has had a custom title since i've seen him.

I just found out that moving a thread to the recycle bin negates post as well.

I just killed a spam thread in the GT4 forum. Off to hunt down more spam. 👍

Ultimately, if the moderators decide that a thread has no business being in one of the standard forums, then its constituent posts are viewed as having no business being in the standard forums. Therefore, those posts should not count towards milestones in forums behaviour.

It's all pretty logical really.

okay, see i thought i had just lost my mind. I coulda sworn that i used to have like 485 posts. now i have like 435. it kinda sucks. you guys don't care cause you have so many posts it doesnt really matter if you loose a few hundred. but when you were that close to a custom title or avataar or whatever, it might suck for some. now i'm curious what thread i posted in that got moved.

Once you get past 500 posts, it really doesn't mean a whole lot, and now that the post count is removed from under our avatar everytime we post, it means even less. But I like it that way cuz it gets rid of a bit of spamming I think!!
