CD's in the car or at home

  • Nicely stored in their cases at home ?

I had probably the most mismatched system of components in my old car, but let me tell you for only $500 I put together a master piece of compenents made for each other through they power range, frequencies, line noise and specifications needed. :D It used to sound better then these guys putting 2 to 3 grand in their systems. . . I use to laugh at them, but now I am finished with putting that stuff in my cars.

grown out of it now - although I'll change my front door speakers soon when they go but no big amps and subs and stuff

just not bothered anymore

I've really got no idea. It just happens that way. And I ran out of room on 'old' so U2 kind of takes up a bit of both. Perhaps it isn't as organised as first thought.
 
Real cds (yeah both of them) at home. Burned cd's in car and on HD at home. MP3 or WMA disks, about 15 or so stuffed to the max with songs. If i need more I pull out the laptop ( every single one of my cd's are at home on my hard drive and on my laptop) and burn one on the go or simply attach the latop to the stereo system.
 
i have a pile of CDs in the living room...some i the bedroom, some in the kitchen some in the loft room some in the garden shed and some in my car....oh, and a couple here in the office...

no wonder i can never find the one i want...
 
My sister likes to pile them up on top of each other
OUT OF THE CASES !!
This really pi**es me off because when she borrows mine - da daaaa! as if by magic. they all get scratched !
 
its always puzzled me why people buy racks to put CDs in...if you notice, Cd cases fit perfectly on top of each other and you can fit...oh, lets see.....40 or so on top of each other piled higgledy piggledy...good enough for me...


also you'll notice that computer towers and hifi speakers are usually flat on top....thats for CD storage that is.....its nothing to do with acoustics....
 
yeah TS and then they all fall over when you need to listen to the one near the bottom !!

I sort of agree though because they would just sit nicely next to each other on the top of a table, say against a wall

but I suppose it justs makes them look nicer if you've got a stand thingy

yeah but thats all part of the fun....the wonderful world of CDs...

seriously though...as someone suggested, i back most of my CDs up as MP3s, i listen to those in the car and at work and keep my originals at home...neatly in a CD rack...not alphabetically ordred but usually grouped by genre...

there is no point in J.S. Bach's Brandenburg Concerto's being right next to Baphomet....music for me depends on my mood....black metal at one end and baroque at the other...

I cna imagine coming home after a pub outing and having to dodge all these big piles of CD's that are everywhere !​
