Well, I'll be doing 3D rendering and such, but that'll be with my dual Xeon pc.

I think the point is that a cheap render farm delivers more 3D rendering than expensive workstations.

Just got the MII 12000 1.2Ghz !... Beautiful... Plan on building a completely silent PC for the bedroom - Booting XPe off a 1Gig CF drive....

XP Embedded... You can fit an XP installation, with media player, on something like 300 megs complete with TCP/IP stack and what you'll need for a small system.. It's actually a development kit for "embedded" systems like ATMs and things that needs a small footprint... But it just so happens to work wonders for stuff like this as well (:
