A Copy of GT4?!?!?!

I've heard from my brother that his mate has a copy of GT4 that he downloaded from the net. It's not prologue and appears(in his eyes) to be a full copy. Has this got anything to do with the stolen build? I havent seen the game myself, but my bro seems to think its the real deal.

But he is only 14....

Any info??
 
I havent seen or heared anything, just invite your brothers friend over :)

The only one ive seen on the net for download to date is prologue, so im guessing this is a hoax, unless he can prove otherwise.
 
9 gigabytes would take over um a few days to download. Don't you need a double-layer dvd burner to burn those?
 
There was a beta I think some long time ago and at that time it was not over a dvd5.

Dude.. relax. The game wasn't stolen, it's just a demo. No doubt the same demo that everybody else here is downloading, see the other threads.

Nope - a 1.5mb connection (which I have) downloads about a gig an hour - so could be done in around 9 hours.

But Yep to the dual layer dvd burner.
 
Assuming even a dual-layer disc can hold it.. what's the maximum capacity of a DVD±R/W? I read in another thread it's about a half-gig short of being able to hold GT4.
 
Would like to add that if this thread is referring to a pirate copy, this would annoy me. Piracy is theft and I for one LIKE TO BE PAID for the work I undertake!

I have over 60 ps2 games, 50 pc games and 30 xbox games and even with a modded x-box have never resorted to piracy.

Piracy sucks!
 
You must know that its copy right protected and playing a copy of it is piracy. Demos have great value for the sales of Mags, and this demo is also sold, it is sold with a booklet about GT4. hmmmm
 
Just looked at the thread now. I wouldn't get high and mighty about a demo although technically it is still wrong - I don't want people to think I've got some stuck up attitude. Not really bothered about pirated demos - pirate of full game is a completely different matter.

Hope that clarifies my view.
 
Ah I see, I have the same view but as a European I do get sometimes a pirated copy, and if I play it more than 30 minutes then I do buy the game when it comes to Europe (full price) even if I dont pick it up again to play. Because europeans often get the games the last. I have GT4 Prologue in original and PES4 soon (import from .nl)
 
I agree with you very muchly, Caligula.. every game I own is store-bought. Just doesn't feel right to do it any other way. Even if the game is the same, it just "feels" like a fake copy, ya know?
 
what about a game like Thrill Kill that you cannot buy?
I admit I do have it pirated, but the game never legally came out cuz EA blowz!
And is buying a JP Ps2 and buying games from Japan before the American release piracy or illegal? Cuz I been doing it for years. I had Tekken 4 like almost a year before it came out in the Us, and same with SC2, VF4:EVO, FFX:International, and a few other games. None are fakes, and the reason I bought another PS2 was to avoid mod chips since those are bad news. It prolly ain't legal but why would a game company stop me? They still making profit.
 
Bust his a** man! If it's downloaded, its illegal. That or tell him to get rid of it.

Does he even know the fine for illegally downloading a game that's not released?

BTW, is PS2 modded?

I'm not scared to say that i'm a pirate also and i'm a pirate for one good reason:
Crappy Music cd's from kick butt bands. They put out that cd and say "We're in love with this cd, man! And if we like it, so will our fans." NO, NO, NO! That's not the case at all! Comments like that deserves a little fan rebellion. I won't name any bands, but cd's that sounds like*cough* St. Anger *cough* deserves a little music piracy. It's just not successful to put out a cd that has only 3 good tracks on it. But I'm with you guys about game downloading, only losers with no job/s do that. I won't even think about stealing a game, let alone GT4 or the prolouge off of the net.

EA does'nt blow. EA is the reason why I'm into auto racing right now. Whenever you say something like that about EA, Think about this very successful racing series: Need for Speed. I grew up playing The need for Speed games.
 
I am also in the school of thought that pirating sucks and does make it unfair for us legitimate consumers out there.

The only thing I d/l today is music.

It is LEGAL to d/l music. It only becomes illegal when you start selling it. If you use it for personal use, like myself, then you're perfectly safe. 👍
 
It is stupid to discuss legality when you do not state where you live, downloading music is in most places a copy right infringement but with no punishment, and as a buyer I couldnt care less what other people do, so some people get games for free? Lucky them then.

The only time I care is when there is online play as then, the more people that buy the game the more players online. So honeslty I couldnt care less if everyone else pirates games and I have the original, I only want most people to buy PES4 xbox so more people will be online ;)

And I dont care if someone is dodgy, let him ne so, I have no interest in imposing my stupid morals onto him, let him live.
