Yes, yes, just like American cars are boring, American food sucks, Americans are stupid, American music is lame, etc. etc. etc. There are undiscovered tribes in Borneo that already know how much you despise America. Move on with your life.

I think it is more that american sports are "standardized" so no one is dissapointed but nothing all that exciting happens either. If you pay to see NASCAR, NFL, MLB, etc. you are going to get exactly what you expect.

Don't use the past against me, I meant that Nascar is just as boring as baseball or football. Just because I had deep hatred for all humans yesterday doesn't mean I still hate them all today, it's a little something called multiple personalities.

Well, I'll take the 'real' football over NFL anyday, but I have to say MLB has some of the finest baseball players in the world. Mybe you just don't like the Yankee's like, 20+ MLB championships?

Also, where else are you going to find a form of motorsport where you and your buddies can get together and start your own team on a local short track? Yes, I'll admit NASCAR is way too standardised anymore (please, take me back to 1980 or even 1970) but on the many fifth-mile, quarter-mile, 3/8 mile, half mile and 5/8 mile tracks across America (there are probably a couple hundred) where the true spirit of stock car racing is alive and well, sponsorship comes in four-figure amounts, and the good ol' boys are just doing their best on their favorite track, that's where you'll find NASCAR's roots ;)

I think the Can am series was much more competitive and exciting than old NASCAR.

Mood swing again, Watched Nascar last week or so and saw the best battle for the lead I have ever seen :D. Still, only the last 10 laps of over 200 were interesting, so the point remains that 500 miles is a little too long for one race, Jr.'s proposed 300 mile races are much better:D:tup:.

Yep that's how tight and even the field (the cars - dunno if they're called 'the field' in other motorsports) is these days, but that's how it kinda plays out. Again, Bristol, Richmond or Martinsville are all races not to pass up - there's action on every lap not spent behind the pace car, remember what happened after last year's Chevrolet American Revolution 400?

Iceman, I'm sure everyone here wishes Can-Am was still around, and I think you got the picture wrong. No, it's not that it wasn't exciting back then - it was - but the sport was no where near as standardized as it is today. Take a quick walk through say K-mart and count how many items say 'Official [blank] of NASCAR'. I'm sure you'll at least hit double digits.

And even though they simplified the track, the road race at Sears Point is always a good watch, as is the Watkins Glen event. I wish the cars went to Road America like the trucks do.

Yep... I'd like to see Watkins Glen with 'the boot' and Sonoma's carousel but I dunno why they don't :boggled:

Also, I don't think the Busch or Truck series visits road courses anymore :irked:

how can u sit thru 500 laps of that boring ****? i dont understand i guess it would be fun going 200mph but maybe only for 10 laps or so, but watching it is just agony

Hey, if you think watching it is agony, try not moving from your couch for 4 hours straight (aside for the occasional run to the kitchen for dip, soda and nachos)
